Vintage Assay Crucibles Collected at the Vidicator Mine in Victor, Colorado
Collected in the mid-60's at the historic Vindicator Mine. One of Victor/Cripple Creek, Colorado area's largest mines. At the time, long before it became a tourist attraction, the mine had lain abandoned for many years. When the mine was in operation, this cup was use once and then tossed in a pile. These cups survived in great condition. One has a blackish, glassy residue, and the other has a yellowish residue. Each cup is 3-3/4" high, 3" in diameter at the top and 1-3/4" in diameter at the base. True pieces of Colorado's incredible gold mining history.
