Vintage collectable Auto-Lite Carbide Mining Lamp Light Universal Lamp Co.
This little collectors piece is full of original patina from age. It is a miners lantern from auto-lite universal lamp co. The bottom half is full of a off white dust and the top opens to fill. The light shield is bent and has 2 cracks but that piece is removable and replaceable. The flint is rusted so I have not tested it. Antique original oil or kerosene wick miners lamp. Marked Husson Miners Lamp Pat. 11 17 03 No. 6 The Knippenberg Mfg Co. Oshkosh, Wis. although it's hard to read. Measures 3 1/4 inches tall at the spout. It has a pin on top of the copper spout for cleaning the wick. It is in very good condition and does not appear to have ever been used or had a wick in it. The spout is a bit flattened, but that could be easily fixed. All solder joints appear good. There is a few small dings in it from over the years. 1860s Carbide Mining Prototype McClave Patent Coal Miners Oil Wick Lamp Light
ANTIQUE COAL MINERS OIL WICK LAMP We are offering for sale a very unique unmarked prototype miners lamp. With a little research I believe this to be an early example of the McClave. William McClave was issued one of the earliest patents for a miners oil wick cap lamp. He lived in Hyde Park Luzerne County Pennsylvania and received patent number 49.477 on August 15th 1865. His design is unique among oil wick cap lamps unlike the usual vertical straight sided or tapered cylinder font. His design had a larger diameter font. This design had the advantage of not rocking from side to side. This flatened design kept the lamp closer to the miners head than a regular style of the same size spout since it was not as deep in thickness. An unusual piece. Found in an old work shop. It is heavy, 4 lbs. I imagine it was difficult carrying this around all day on their belt. Has Bureau of Mines seal and Thomas A Edison signature. 3.5” diameter Bakelite helmet lamp also reads Edison Safety Lamp around rim, and has GE Mazda bulb. The battery pack is still shiny metal, but has some character dents, and some age discoloration. The lamp cord rubber feels dried out some, and is completely covered with friction tape, which was a tacky cloth tape used by the miners. The lamp mounts on a helmet, I believe, and has an on/off knob. It is not presently operational. Offered here is a rarely offered marked miners' candlestick. Stamped"Anaconda" on the spike. Reportedly manufactured by the Montana Hardware Company in Butte, Montana. Measures 9.0" long, one piece steel construction. As shown superimposed on a description and illustration of the Montana miners candlestick in the book"A Collector's Guide To Miners' Candlesticks" by Wilson and Bobrink. There were apparently only three of these brand name sticks known when the book was published in 1995. A great display piece. Thanks for looking!

Original Rare Stearic Wax Miners' Candles Marked E. Schneider-Mining Light
Offered here is a rare unfired Miners' Candle marked E. Schneider& Co. Measures 9.0" long. For use in a miners' candlestick. Used in underground mining in the 1800's to early 1900's. The use of miners carbide lamps in the early 1900's made these obsolete. From a cache of marked candles found long ago in the mining town of Montezuma, Colorado. Very tough to find these in original marked condition. Great display piece. Thanks for looing!

This is a nice lot for someone beginning to collect coal mining items. Or add to a collection. The squip tin is the long metal tube, it probably held 1 dozen squibs, they were used to set dynamite off. Both carbide tins are in good shape, the Justrite has some dings, and the Union Carbide held 2 lbs of carbide used in carbide lights. The carbide light is an Auto-Lite, in good shape and actually works, it has some corrosion. The Atlas blasting cap tin is in good shape, they were used to set off dynamite. Here is a vintage. About 100 years old, miner's oil wick lamp from the ZAIS company in FROSTBURG, Maryland. Lamp stands 2 1/8" to the hinge and is designed to be worn on a miner's hat/cap. This unused lamp has an oval stamped on the side. Clearly marked with FROSTBURG at the bottom and strange"coded" marks at the top. There are many different ZAIS stamping codes but the meaning has not been discovered. There are No Dents or Cracks on this lamp; the spout has a spout liner or double spout. French Miners Lantern/Light Chemical Reaction Fuel Mining Lamp
The man I got these from said they are French(so is he) and said you put some type of chemicals inside the body of these and the reaction produced a gas which you lit and it made a flame similar to a candle-sounded possible and they are kind of neat looking so I bought them. There are no markings on either piece and I was guessing they were used by miners-the man had no idea on what they were used for so I am hoping someone may be able to send some info along as to whether I am right on the use. Some rust on the clips on the sides but overall good condition.

COMPLETE ANTIQUE VINTAGE OLD MINERS MINING CAP LAMP LIGHT AUTO LITE LANTERN
Up for auction is a great old vintage Miner's cap complete with light. The cap is a brown canvas type material with a leatherlike bill on it. The inside of the cap is flannel but in the middle the stitches have come undone. The light is an Auto Lite and when I flick it the flint sparks. On the bottom of the light it says Universal Lamp Co. Vintage ITP Miners Supt. Carbide Lamp, Mid-size 1/2 Shift, Complete mining light
Here is a great vintage(almost 100 years ago) miner's carbide lamp. Superintendent style with two handles and a hook between the handles. No repairs! Please see all the pictures for excellent condition of this great light! Collectible display condition but READY TO USE if you wish. Lamp has been fired but has all original parts including red gasket, felt retainer and spring on water dropper, screw-type water adjustment, 3 1/2" reflector and reflector support, wind protector over burner tip, working striker, etc. Base is clearly stamped" ITP IT'S TROUBLE PROOF PAT. AUG. 8. 1916" I have put a New Old Stock felt filter inside and a New Flint in the working striker to put this lamp into useable condition. UNUSED Miners Carbide Lamp, GUY'S DROPPER -6 Date, Old Stock mining caving light
Here is a NEW. Never fired. GUY'S DROPPER brand miner's carbide lamp designed to be worn on a miner's hat/cap. This model has 6 Patent Dates on the top, from 1912 to 1925, and the bottom is stamped with"MANUF'D BY SHANKLIN MFG. CO. SPRINGFIELD, ILL. U.S.A. Lamp has its original brass 2 3/8" reflector and all other parts are original except a new black rubber gasket and a new flint in the working striker. There are 3 stress cracks in the skirt(the lower edge of the top) and these cracks are common for this lamp style. No dents on this lamp. Winning bidder is to pay $8.
