An original antique Justrite Carbide Miners lamp No 2-840 in its original box which was made by the Justrite Manufacturing Company Chicago Ill. The lamp is in excellent all original condition apparently having been little used. The box has a detached top lid and there is some general soil and wear although nothing to excess. Antique JUSTRITE Brass Carbide Miner Lantern w/ Reflector If there is no bid in this item in the first 24 hours we reserve the right to end the auction. This is a nice antique miner lamp that is in great shape. This miner lamp measures approx 4" tall. The reflector is 2 1/2" in diameter. The brass lamp is in great shape. With only a couple very tiny dents on the side from years of use. The carbide is still in the bottom part, and we will leave it for the high bidder to decide what they want to do with it. The top and bottom screw together good. But the top sits a little forward when screwed on. The rubber( fitting(gasket? that is between the top and bottom is old and a little stiff and dry, but it is in one piece. See picture 11. The top is stamped with"Made in USA" Pat No. 115123" JUSTRITE" and"ON/OFF" ... morewith arrows. The filler cap on the top opens and closes nicely and is good and tight. The lamp has the piece that hooks onto a hard hat that the miners wore when working. The reflector is in good shape but does have a little wear and some light rusting there the finish is worn off. And a tiny bit on the back. The wheel on the reflector is hard to turn, but does turn. This reflector is magnetic. And is marked on one side of the top chamber'Trade Mark Justrite Made in USA Pat Applied For' This is a used vintage/antique item that shows scratches/scuffs, and several small dings/dents in the top chamber. The valve control moves smoothly and fully over the control slots in the counterclockwise direction, and in the clockwise direction it moves only to about the'1 o'clock' position. The water door opens and closes fine, and the striker assembly moves but it is stubborn. The carbide chamber unscrews and fastens fine, and there is residue in the chamber. Coal miner’s carbide lamp - early Justrite - beaded base, lever feed
Justrite Manufacturing Company. Circa 1915 to 1918 carbide lamp Carbide lamp manufactured by Justrite Manufacturing Company of Chicago. Illinois. Brass construction. Water tank has oval door and lever feed adjustment. Carbide chamber has beaded grip rings. Small but deep reflector with attached striker. Round hook for attaching to cap. Justrite and three patent dates on side of water tank: May 7. 1912; October 28, 1913; November 23, 1915, others pending. No text on bottom of carbide chamber. Condition: Lamp is flea market fresh. Meaning there has been no attempt to clean or restore it. Dents include a minor one at one o’clock position of the reflector, and a bump along bottom edge of carbide chamber. Rear panel of water tank has been pushed inward a millimeter or so. Water tank door will not open easily and I don’t want to force it. Complete ... morewith striker, hook, and cap braces. Antique Justrite Mining Lantern Miners Lamp Patent Applied For
Antique JUSTRITE Mining Lantern up for auction! Stamped PAT APLD FOR. Glass is in good overall condition with no cracks or chips. The glass does have forming lines and bubbles from when it was manufactured. There are a couple of dents on the bottom base. The focal lens is missing and there is a part on the inside for operation that is also missing. The seal around the top of the base also has a crack in it. These are fairly rare to find though and would make a great addition to anyone's collection! Measures approximately 8 1/2" tall. 16" tall to the top of the handle, and 4 1/8" across the bottom base.

No cracks nor chips to the glass. Which is embossed JUSTRITE, and the bullseye is also perfect. Nickel is 99+% with no rust nor scratches, body is without dents. The lamp has been used as there is mild residue in the combustion chamber. Marked: JUSTRITE, PAT APLD FOR, which I understand was granted in 1905, so that would make this manufacture pre-1905. Lamp is made of brass and shows some light dings here and there. One bigger edge dent to the right of the name JUSTRITE and the Pat dates. and one on the edge of the reflector shield. Needs a flint and the flint holder opens fine. Some carbide stains inside the bottom. Cap opens easy. No marks on the bottom. Reflector is soldered on and not removeable. Gasket is present and soft. Sorry but this is a non-functioning lamp. The bottom section. Which holds the water does not come off( I'm told it is suppose to) The on-off switch at the top(photo# does move right and left. But not to the far edges. The flint lighting wheel does turn, but there is no flint. The reflector is in pretty good shape. All in all I think this would make a nice display on a bookshelf. Here is a vintage Justrite Plastic carbide lamp from a recent estate sale. Un-used. Unfired, original box and instruction sheet. Missing the burner tip and reflector nut. Otherwise excellent in box. Has one plastic clip. Dates to the 1970's. Un-popular due to the plastic body could melt if exposed to excessive heat. Neat piece. Thanks for looking!

Offered here is an early nickel plate Justrite Miners' Carbide cap lamp. Very unusual design for the cap lamp attachment. A single small piece of metal that is apparently soldered to the lamp. With a"slide in" configuration. I can find no reference to this piece, could be an after market attachment or a special order. Patent Applied For on tank. Bumper guard is well worn.
