The lamp measures approximately 4-1/4 x 3-1/8 x 2-3/4 inches overall. The reflector measures 2-3/4 inches. It is stamped on the bottom- MANUF'D BY SHANKLIN MFG. CO. SPRINGFIELD. ILL. U.S.A. It is stamped on the top- GUY'S DROPPER PAT. 5-2-12 5-26-14 9-19-16 11-2-20 5-10-25 7-21-25 It has the roller on the reflector connected to a twist on nut post; wingnut center piece. Adjustable hook dial that nudges into grooves; flip top plug that opens into the top basin. A simple hook holds the lamp on. Notable design to the lamp is rope band on the upper body and the base of the tank. A metal stem holds 2 ring discs(for level? into the tank. Tank has its original gasket ring under the screw folds. Overall good to very good condition ASIDE from the unit being used and dinged. I have no means of testing this unit. This was used in northeastern ... morePennsylvania for mining. Antique Tall Boy Superintendent's Carbide Miners Lamp Guy's Dropper 1916 Chrome Description: Very nice original all chrome superintendent's tall boy carbide miners lamp manufactured by Shanklin and called the Guy's Dropper model. It has two patent dates of 1914 and 1916. It appears to be complete and in very good used condition with just a small minor amount of white scale inside lower container. Has a great nickel chrome finish with only a few spots of wear at very bottom edge. No denting or distortion and only a few dings at very bottom as well. All lids. Screw ons and levers and holding clamps move nicely and have no issues either. Reflector is excellent. Height is 4 1/2" inches and the refector measures just over 3" inches. Up for bid is a Carbide Mining Lamp Guys Dropper Shanklin MFG Company Springfield I'll. Pat dates go from 5-2-1912 to 7-21-1925. It is 4" H has a Bumper Grip on the bottom which was added to it.
