We stock a few hard to find magazines that we really like. The latest we have is the large format, high quality title Revival of the Machine from Spain. We have issue 1 and 2. The second has a killer cover image of David Borras shot by our friend Kristina Fender. Find both issues in New Arrivals.
We have the new issue of All You Need Is Ride from France with Dirt Quake hero Serge Nuques on the cover.
And the NEW MOTORCYCHO! Plus a big restock of back issues of the original lame-ass bikerzine, from Canada.

Union Magazine #2 In stock
We stock a few harder to find independent magazines and fanzines from time to time. My old friend, and top photographer, James Cheadle is one of the co-founders of Union (not to be confused with the Japanese mag of the same name).
Union is a big, thick slab of features from the far reaches of humanity. The stories are written first person, James and writer Martin Pashley put themselves in the middle of stories, visiting dirt poor white squatter camps in South Africa and Bolivian tribal fighting festivals and the voodoo-like Santeria religion. Plus there's a report from the Salton Sea, Northern Soul clubs and Black Bike Week.
It's hard to sum up the magazine, because the subjects are so diverse, but it's fascinating.
You can get your copy, from £8 plus post, from the new look Sideburn webshop. Click on Magazine, from the drop down All Products menu. G

We Love Motorcycho
Sideburn has stocked Motorcycho, the original lame-ass bikerzine, and it's related patches for years now, so we got Norman to write a bit about the history of his zine.
The true beginning of Motorcycho began around 1969 (above) when I picked up my first motorcycle magazine, which I probably still have, and a few years later my first minibike. I've never been without two wheels since!
As far as the magazine is concerned, I had been doing a music zine through the late 80's and reached a point where it was time for a change. It was probably around this point I stumbled upon my first issue of Gearhead magazine. Issue #2 featured articles on biker movies, biker movie soundtracks and Davie Allan. I was big into motorcycle music by then, doing a weekly radio show at the local University station, and it became clear to me that the next logical progression for me was a zine about motorcycles and music!
This would have been around 1994, my riding days were at a minimum due to the fact I had 4 small kids, so doing a zine was the perfect distraction!
Cut and paste and a dot matrix printer kept it simple. The first bunch of issues had a lot more music and band interviews, but through the years that has pretty much disappeared. I had also wanted keep it simple and easy, that also has pretty much disappeared, which is why we only seem to put out one issue a year.
Lately the mag is pretty much about friends and fun. I guess that's been the common thread throughout Motorcycho's existence… Motorcycles are FUN, and the people are the best! Whether it be riding minibikes in the back alley, roadtripping with a bunch of buddies on vintage tin or riding with my wife on the back on some twisty mountain road, it all brings a big grin to this guy's face!
Like a wise man once said: "I Dig Sickles"
Above and below, Norm with his youngest daughter Miki, a few years apart. I get the feeling Norm is one of the best dads ever.
Norm on his trusty TT impersonating his hero Evel.
If this inspires you to buy some Motorcycho goods, head over to the Sideburn shop and click the Motorcycho label in the category box on the right. You get a free Sideburn sticker with every Motorcycho order from us. G

Sideburn 21 - Kriega Cover and so much more
We're offering very limited supplies of SB21 with the special cover we printed for Kriega.
Kriega sent this magazine to buyers of their new Sling and Urban bags.
To be clear, this SB21 Kriega magazine is identical to the regular Sideburn 21 EXCEPT for the cover, that was shot by the world famous Vogue photographer David Sims. That means it's for collectors and completists only. Don't buy it looking for content different to the regular SB21.
Read about David Sims here. Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Calvin Klein, Sideburn...
We have also a new 3 issue back issue bundle offer to clear a bit of shelf space.
Issue 11, 14 and 16 for £9 plus post.
This is in addition to the 4 back issue bundle (7, 8, 9, 10) we have.
And another for the collectors, a Sideburn Programme bundle of all our A5-sized event programmes for four of our biggest events so far. Relive the joy and triumphs, the gathering of motorcycle tribes, the dodgy on-track catering, the motorised pie, all from the comfort of your treehouse and all for just £2.50 plus post.
On Monday the law is changing in the UK (then probably everywhere else) that sees supermarkets charging 5p for every plastic bag. You're going to need bags! So get this Dirt Quake IV tote bag, complete with the Sideburn gaffer tape font by Ben Part, for just £3.50 (plus post).
It's not quite a Kriega bag, but it'll carry your bananas, quinoa, Mellow Birds and copy of OK! home from Asda in style.
We have a few black DQIII totes too.
Finally, for now, we have Union Magazine, made by a friend of mine, the photographer James Cheadle. It's great, big heavy thing, full of brilliant true stories about exorcists, spies turned religious kooks, bike gangs, drug dealers, Sikh martial artists.
£8 plus post.
Get them all, and much more, from sideburn.bigcartel.com
Remember, every order gets a free Sideburn sticker. Whoop! G

All You Need Is Ride: Editor Interview
We stock magazines and books from other indie publishers, from time to time, that are hard to find outside their home countries (like Canada's Motorcycho).
One of those magazines is French-made All You Need Is Ride. We have issue 5, it's all in English and full of great content. Adrien interviewed us for the latest issue, and had the illustration of us made (below).
We asked the founder and editor Adrien a few questions.
Click to buy All You Need Is Ride #5
What is your name, age and where do you live ? My name is Adrien -- 34 -- I live in south of France, between Lyon and Marseille.
What made you start AYNIR?
I do the fanzine only by passion. I started with no means - only "ma bite et mon couteau" (my cock and my knife)... It was time to do this, I don't want to have a lot of regrets when I'll be old.
How long does it take to make?
I'm totally free of the publishing date... I can work on the fanzine one month or six ! I send it to the printer when I think that the issue is ready.
What is the hardest bit of making the magazine?
I think that it's the money to printing... I don't have ads for the moment but luckily my readers follow me. And I want to say thank you!
What is the best part of making your own magazines?
All other things ! Do this is so interesting - I'm a graphic designer. I love the paper. Meeting people, authors, photographers and talking with them is so cool! And visiting events for the fanzine - I just arrive at the Pure & Crafted Festival at Berlin - fantastic... Then, the best parts of making my own fanzine is all other things.
What is your favourite bike event?
My favourites are Wheels and Waves and Dirt Quake... Because I can feel freedom through them. Next year, I want to go to Glemseck with my motorcycle... But I go to some little events, the pleasure is great too.
How do you choose what goes in and what doesn't?
As I said, I do the fanzine only by passion. All that on the pages is what I like. No borders and no limits.
What bike or bikes do you own?
I have a Honda 500 XLS tracker - I was with it to the Dirt Quake II - and a Kawasaki 400 GPZ racer... And I work on a new tracker, but it's a secret for the moment.
What is your hopes and plans for the future of your magazine?
Just develop the fanzine in France and all over the world... I hope to do a big event next year if I have time... And always have fun on a motorcycle... All we need is ride!
