Why just buy his products when you can also meet skincare expert to the stars, Ole Henriksen?!

Being a fan of more natural products I have made a point over the last year or so of trying some products from the Ole Henriksen line.  Designed to be simple, effective, good for all skin types and with nature's active ingredients infused into every formulation.  Here are a couple that I like a lot:

Ole Henriksen Purifying Eye Make-Up Remover - 75 pads - $31 - soothe while dissolving even the most stubborn eye makeup, leaving the sensitive eye area feeling soft, supple, and hydrated.  They're oil-free and infused with vitamin E, and chamomile, eyebright, and cucumber extracts to help with inflammation and puffiness while the area is soothed, healed, comforted, and calmed by these ingredients. I like the job it does removing my makeup, even waterproof mascara and eyeliner and that it doesn't leave a greasy residue behind  -  my only complaints would be that I'm not crazy about the cucumber scent and keep your eyes shut and try not to get it in your eyes, it stings!

Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Collagen Booster - 30ml - $60 - with 10% vitamin C, this skin booster and anti-aging treatment firms and smoothes, delivering more radiant skin. Its light, fast-absorbing, oil-free formula penetrates to deep layers of the skin, offering instant and long-term hydration, nourishment, and antioxidant protection against environmental aggressors. I have much, much love for this serum - it feels great, makes my skin glow and smells amazingly citrusy - I actually first got it in one of those Sephora 500 point gifts and loved it so much that I bought the full sized one!
Available at Sephora and online at www.olehenriksen.com

As long as your headed down to Sephora to pick some of his products up, why not go meet Ole himself? He will be in-store discussing his brand philosophy as well as providing tips!
You'll find him in Toronto tomorrow (Wednesday, June 8th) at the Sephora Bloor Street store from 12-2pm and at the Sephora Eaton Centre store from 3-5pm.
Or in Montreal on Thursday (June 9th) at the Sephora St. Bruno store from 2-4pm, the Sephora Carrefour Laval store from 6-8pm and on Friday (June 10th) at the Sephora Pointe Claire store from 12:30-2:30pm.

Do you already have a fave Ole Henriksen product or is it a line you've been meaning to try?

Want to see Something Borrowed first? Then you'll want to enter to win tickets in our Canada wide Contest!

I was thrilled when I heard that one of my favourite books - Something Borrowed, by one of my favourite authors - Emily Giffin, was being made into a movie! I loves me a romantic comedy as well as John Krasinski (yum) and Ginnifer Goodwin - so I'm really looking forward to this one!

Here's the deal with the movie: Rachel (Ginnifer Goodwin) is a talented attorney at a top New York law firm, a generous and loyal friend, and, unhappily, still single…as her engaged best friend Darcy (Kate Hudson) is constantly reminding her.  But after celebrating her 30th birthday, perpetual good girl Rachel unexpectedly ends up in bed with the guy she’s had a crush on since law school, Dex (Colin Egglesfield)…who just happens to be Darcy’s fiancé.  When Rachel and Darcy’s lifelong friendship collides with true love, it leads to unexpected complications and potentially explosive romantic revelations. The romantic comedy “Something Borrowed” also stars John Krasinski as Ethan, Rachel’s constant confidante and sometimes conscience, who is busy evading the affection of Darcy’s hopelessly love-struck friend Claire (Ashley Williams) while harboring a secret crush of his own; and Steve Howey as Marcus, an irrepressible womanizer who can’t keep his mind out of the gutter or his hands off any girl within reach.

You can check out the official Something Borrowed website for trailers, pictures and other fun stuff:

The movie opens May 6th but we want to send you to the advance screening on May 4th!

It's not often that we get a chance to include so many of our Canadian readers when giving away passes for a movie screening, but in this case the nice folks at Warner Bros. Pictures Canada were super accommodating and we have tickets for all the cities where they are holding an advance screening!

So if you are in Toronto, Montreal (english and french screenings), Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Ottawa or Halifax (this is what the locations look like right now)
Toronto - SilverCity Yonge and Eglinton
Vancouver -Empire Granville Theatre
Montreal EN -AMC Forum
Montreal FR - Star Cite
Calgary - Eau Claire
Edmonton - City Centre
Winnipeg - SilverCity Polo Park
Ottawa - Rideau
Halifax - Parklane
and you and a friend would like to see an advance screening of Something Borrowed then leave a comment with your e-mail address, what city you would like passes for and also let us know what your favourite romantic comedy is!

We will be giving away 5 pairs of tickets for all the screenings except for Toronto, where we will be giving away 10 pairs of tickets!  You have until April 25th to enter - winners will be drawn randomly and contacted by e-mail. Good Luck!

Nadya Toto Spring 2011 - feminine with an edge!

Montreal designer Nadya Toto is one of Christelle's faves - normally she would be doing this post but you might have noticed that she hasn't been around lately (you can tell that by how nicer it is here), she started a new job and has been swamped so until things ease up for her, I am picking up her slack (as usual).  When Nadya Toto's spring look book came in, I put it aside for Christelle - but as I was browsing through it this week, I realized that these clothes are much more me then they are Christelle - so feminine, with lace and ruffles but still edgy! - so screw you Christelle, Nadya Toto is now mine!

Check it out and I hope you enjoy the spring collection as much as I do - including the amazing dress above, I am racking my brain trying to think of someplace fancy I need to go so I would have an excuse to buy it!

Dr. Hauschka Spa thinks you're golden - or at least should be!

Women have been known to put some pretty strange stuff on their skin, but finally something that makes sense to me - Gold!
Dr. Hauschka Spa in Montreal is now offering a Holistic 24 Karat Gold Facial - for $270 you get a sumptuous two hour treatment where the lymphatic flow is stimulated to help eliminate toxins and make the skin receptive to the benefits of the gold.  The sheets are then applied as a mask to thoroughly cleansed skin.  Using light touches, they are then gently pressed into the skin so the effects can penetrate deeply.

I'm sure you are wondering how the heck gold could be good for your skin and if this is some kind of beauty scam, but there is actually science behind the use of gold:  much as gold is used as a conductor in electronics, gold exerts an influence on electrons present in the cells.  It rapidly warms the skin to provide a comforting sensation while helping increase oxygenation, balancing the acidity of the body tissue fluids and freeing the skin of impurities.  The heat energy also helps release negative ions and rid skin cells of free radicals.  As a result, wrinkles are diminished, blemishes banished, and age spots fade away.  The skin becomes genuinely luminous, and women report a feeling of complete inner and outer radiance.

The results last approximately 3 weeks.  A single treatment is ideal any time for an added glow, especially before a big event but for optimal results a series of six monthly treatments is recommended.

And if you have this done in February, you can look just like an Oscar!

You can find the Dr. Hauschka Spa at 1444 Rue Sherbrooke Ouest, Montreal, QC - 514-286-1444.

Miss June brings hippie chic to Montreal - and the rest of Canada!

I am a big fan of a tunic top - they hide a multitude of  sins, are comfortable and so pretty!  They go over pants, jeans skirts, even bathing suits and f you have the legs for it, you can even wear them as a dress!  If you are also a lover of the tunic you should check out Miss June - a Parisian brand newly arrived in Canada!  They have a boutique in Montreal  at 2030-B rue Crescent St. and another store planned for the end of fall.

The rest of us can shop at the international e-shop at www.missjune.ca - even better, for the rest of August, all purchases will be 20% off.  The site is very user friendly - each style can be viewed multi-dimensionally, there is an international size conversion chart and the weight of each piece is also listed to estimate shipping.

And of course the collection is lovely - very flowy with interesting details and a price range that is totally affordable - $50-$150.

I understand that they also do a rapid turnover of stock which means you will always find something new there - but also, if you love something, grab it, it might not still be around next visit!

Deck yourself out in some Denim & Diamonds to help a good cause!

The 10th Annual Denim & Diamonds event will take place this Saturday night (May 15th) at the Windsor Ballroom in Montreal.  Canadian Idol winner, Eva Avila will perform to a crowd of 800 people and for the benefit of Hope & Cope - a psychosocial support service for young cancer patients and their families, which the event is a fundraiser for.

Tickets are still available so if you are in the Montreal area or are planning to be on Saturday, call 514-340-3616 to score yourself one.  Tickets cost $140 and include dining from some of the city's top eateries and an open bar so I am sure the promoters are hoping that Christelle doesn't show - she could drink up their profits in no time!  It's a great cause and you can go to www.denimdiamonds.ca for more info.
