Kérastase K Lift Vertige Root-Uplifting Gel - 75ml - $40 - a medium-fixation styling gel that guarantees a “higher hair” effect with delicate softness and shine.

I have fine hair with little noticeable body so I am always looking for something that will pump it up a bit but usually avoid gels because they tend to end up a sticky, stiff mess in my hair. However this one has a light texture that goes on smoothly and dries without being the least bit hard or crunchy so a definite win! I am far too lazy to do the whole blowdryer/brush lift thing though so I apply it to my roots on damp hair, tip my head upside down and blowdry that way - same general concept, zero skill required, great volume!

Fluidissime Complete Anti-Frizz Care Spray - 150ml - $54 - contains a surface-morphing polymer, which forms a network over the fiber to tame even the most untamable frizz - can be used on wet or dry hair to .reduce friction, protect the fiber during styling and to discipline even the frizziest and most unmanageable hair.

The line is meant for unruly hair and works better on hair that is normal to coarse. You fine haired ladies (like myself) might find that the formula weighs down your hair too much and you won't get the soft, bouncy feeling that less fine hair will - it will be hard to pass up though, the smell is amazing!

It's not easy to find leave-in products for fine hair that don't weigh it down, making it look stringy and greasy - and honestly, when I hear the word "oil" in relation to that I usually run for hills - that is until I found:

Having a sensitive scalp is actually more of a widespread problem then you might imagine but probably shouldn't be surprising as the skin on the scalp is 4X thinner than facial skin and suffers from multiple attacks, like coloring and styling.

I recently had a chance to try it for myself with a little help from Duyen Huynh at Taz Hair Co. in Toronto.





My fine hair can really use some thickness and shine as you can see from the before picture...
The concentrate is applied with a dropper to my roots and the important part is to massage it in, which is where letting someone else apply your treatment is a great thing - there is nothing better than a head massage!
And here's my hair after 1 week and 3 treatments - while a professional cut and blowout certainly does improve the way my hair looks I think you can also visibly notice that my hair looks thicker, it certainly does feel that way!
