Fragrant Friday - Paco Rabanne Fame

Paco Rabanne introduces a new fragrance for the woman that is  playful, sensual and empowered:
 
Paco Rabanne Fame - 50ml EDP - $122, 80ml EDP - $158, 200ml EDP - $212, 200ml Body Lotion - $54 - an irresistible floral, woody musk fragrance with top notes of mango and bergamot; heart notes of jasmine and incense; and base notes of sandalwood and vanilla that  combined radiate joy and audacious sensuality. Made in France of 90% natural origin and 100% crafted in Grasse from sustainable ingredients.

The scent is fresh and spicy from the combination of the mango and incense which is what I smell the most on me to start with and then it dries down to really get the sandalwood and vanilla creaminess - a lovely fragrance for fall!
 
The avant-garde bottle is of course all kinds of adorable - from the dress of silver pastilles to the cat's-eye sunglasses to the edgy piercings - like jewelry for your dressing table!

Fragrant Friday - Paco Rabanne Phantom

Introducing a feel-good perfume that boosts your sexiness, confidence, and energy:

Fragrant Friday - Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Eau De Parfum Intense

Chanel adds a new dimension to the original Coco Mademoiselle formula with:

Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Eau De Parfum Intense - 50ml EDP - $129, 100ml EDP - $183 - a captivating and seductive Oriental fragrance with top notes of Sicilian orange and Calabrian bergamot; heart notes of Indonesian patchouli, rose and jasmine; and base notes of patchouli leaves combined with an ambery accord composed of tonka bean and Madagascar vanilla absolutes.

The scent is similar to the original, especially when first applied but as it dries down, it becomes much warmer and sexier - I had several compliments on it, including one in an elevator from a stranger which is always a good sign!

Fragrant Friday - Gabrielle Chanel

Chanel has launched their first feminine fragrance in 15 years with:

Gabrielle Chanel - 50ml EDP - $129, 100ml EDP - $183 -  a purely feminine fragrance for a confident woman with top notes of mandarin, grapefruit and black currant; heart notes of tuberose, ylang-ylang, jasmine and orange blossom; and base notes of sandalwood and musk.

The fragrance represents a dream flower imagined by perfumer Olivier Polge - the ideal white flower made up of all the floral varieties used historically by Chanel and then taken up a notch to be re-imagined as something even more fantastic.

With an outside as pretty as the inside thanks to a unique bottle design by Sylvie Legastelois that is jewel-like yet simple, classic and transmits light as a symbol of the sunny character of the fragrance.

The face of the fragrance is Kristen Stewart with a campaign that includes a powerful commercial that is perfect for Kristen as it never requires her to smile!

Fragrant Friday - Prada Candy Florale

Add a little bit of floral to your candy with the third edition to the Prada Candy family:

Prada Candy Florale - 30ml EDT - $65, 50ml EDT - $85, 80ml EDT - $115 - a lively floral fragrance full of life and sensuality, inspired by an imaginary flower that smells like candy or a bouquet of flowers standing on the counter of an ice cream shop in Italy. Fragrant Friday - Killer Queen's Royal Revolution by Katy Perry

Killer Queen's Royal Revolution by Katy Perry - 50ml EDP - $59 - an irresistible floral, slightly fruity fragrance that captivates with top notes of ruby red pomegranate and pink freesia; heart notes of jasmine petals, orange flower and  sandalwood; and base notes of  mystical blackthorn, vanilla orchid and skin musk.

The bottle is similar to her first two Killer Queen fragrances only this time in blue. What makes this one noticeably different from the others though is the whole storyline that goes along with the fragrance including a cute little animated movie - enjoy!

Fragrant Friday - Dolce & Gabbana Dolce

Dolce & Gabbana Dolce - 50ml EDP - $106, 75ml EDP - $132 - a rich white floral fragrance with top notes of neroli leaves and papaya flowers; heart notes of white amaryllis, white daffodils and white water lily; and base notes of cashmeran, musky notes and sandalwood

And while the fragrance itself is a little too floral for my taste, the bottle is so pretty and girly I can hardly stand how much I love it - it's both vintage and modern at the same time!

The commercial will have you booking the next flight to Italy for the beautiful scenery, clean air and the lemon harvest with cute boys...

Fragrant Friday - Beyoncé Rise

Beyoncé believes that a woman's power comes from within and connects her to her very essence which inspired her to create:

Fragrant Friday - Dolce & Gabbana Intense

Inspired by the richness and depth of Dolce & Gabbana Pour Femme is this heady celebration of the power of scent to evoke, to incite and to command:

Dolce & Gabbana Intense - 50ml EDP - $110, 100ml EDP - $132 - an oriental floral - with fresh accords of green mandarin and neroli as top notes; leading to its opulent floral heart of tuberose and orange blossom; and a base that exudes a sweet marshmallow note along with sandalwood.  

From the name I was expecting a more intense version of the original but it's not actually as strong as I was expecting, it actually smells very similar to Pour Femme, just a little bit sweeter, which makes me like it better then the original!

Fragrant Friday - Estée Lauder Modern Muse

A new fragrance inspired by the intriguing duality of today's woman and complements every aspect of her dynamic life:

And while I really like the sleek packaging and adore the bow on top, the fragrance is just too floral for my taste so I had a friend who likes floral test it out and she declared sophisticated and feminine!

Which came first the fragrance name or the model - guess it doesn't matter since they both end in "Muse" - Arizona Muse is the beautiful face of the fragrance!

Fragrant Friday - Prada Candy L'Eau

Prada Candy L'Eau - 80ml EDT - $110, 30ml EDT - $62 - a playful and seductive scent with top notes of Sicilian mandarin and organic lemon; afloral heart of sweet pea; and base notes of white musks, benzoin and caramel.

I was already a fan of the original Candy but the addition of the citrus notes to this version makes it even more of a winner for me!

of course it's not a real fragrance unless it has a cool commercial and this one is hilarious (and kinda dirty)!

Fragrant Friday - Michael Kors Sporty Sexy Glam

Michael Kors has just launched a new beauty lifestyle collection, at the heart of which is three unique fragrances:

Sporty Citrus - 30ml EDP - $55, 50ml EDP - $85, 100ml EDP - $105 - with top notes of crisp orange and mandarin; background notes of warm woods and white florals; and creamy, woodsy base notes.

Sexy Amber - 30ml EDP - $55, 50ml EDP - $85, 100ml EDP - $105 - puts the spotlight on sumptuous amber wrapped in sandalwood and musk, against a bright backdrop of dazzling orange, mandarin and white florals.

Glam Jasmine - 30ml EDP - $55, 50ml EDP - $85, 100ml EDP - $105 - centers around Michael's fave floral note of Jasmine paired with warm woodsy notes and sparkling citrus.

Of course if my fragrance is supposed to change as often as my mood as Michael Kors would have me believe then I'm going to need a hell of a lot more then 3 choices...

Fragrant Friday - Justin Bieber The Key

In between random acts of stupidity and douche-baggery our boy Justin has unlocked the next chapter in his fragrance empire with -

Justin Bieber The Key - 100ml EDP - $70, 50ml EDP - $60, 200ml Touchable Body Lotion - $27.50, 150ml Swept Away Hair Mist - $22 -  a luminous fruity floral musk fragrance with top notes of juicy mandarin, crisp pear, boysenberry and sweet osmanthus blossoms; heart notes of pink jasmine, water lily and peach nectar; and base notes of luminous musks, precious woods, vanilla and a touch of raspberry cream.

As demented as the Bieb is acting these days I have to say that I really like the fruity-sweetness of his new fragrance as well as the inspiring message behind it which is about believing in yourself, your dreams and of course that someday you and Justin will get married and have 2.5 kids and all that stuff...(well maybe not that bit so much...)

Fragrant Friday - Paco Rabanne 1 Million Intense

Paco Rabanne 1 Million Intense - 100ml EDT - $94 - A spicy-woody-oriental fragrance touted as the embodiment of extravagance and an intensified and deeper version of the original with top notes of  fresh and spicy notes of blood mandarin, cardamom, black pepper and saffron; heart notes of rose absolute, neroli and cinnamon; and base notes of white leather, orris root, patchouli and sandalwood.

It smells similar to the original but I find this one a little more spicy and sexy - which is a big plus for me!

I loved the commercial from the first one and this one is just as fun - you'll recognize Matt Gordon and Dree Hemingway - even in her gold paint!

Fragrant Friday - Bath & Body Works Forever Red

Is This the Best Beauty Regimen Ever?


I woke up this morning, not exactly looking fresh-like-a-daisy, so this fake commercial for "Fotoshop by Adobé", the "best beauty regimen in the world" made me chuckle! That's exactly what I need, but for real life, you know!

And I'm sort of sick of reading about celebrities' patronizing beauty "secrets" when their photos look nothing like them! So, I dedicate Adobé to them!

Fragrant Friday - Dolce & Gabbana Pour Femme

This month has seen the re-launch of a classic fragrance:

Dolce & Gabbana Pour Femme - 25ml EDP - $82, 50ml EDP - $95, 100ml EDP - $121, 200ml Body Lotion - $59, 200ml Shower Gel - $48 - with top notes of neroli, raspberry and a hint of tart green mandarin; heart notes of jasmine and orange blossom; and base notes of vanilla, heliotrope and sandalwood.

My understanding is that fragrance hasn't been so much changed as just fine-tuned a bit as the designers wanted the fragrance to mature a bit as they have since it was first introduced in 1992.

I don't think I have ever smelled the original version but I understand it was a lot more floral - the re-launched version is much more to my taste as I do really like the fruity and sweet aspects of it!

Available now exclusively at The Bay and come December, will also be available at Holt Renfrew, Sephora, Shoppers Drug Mart Beauty Boutiques, Murale and Sears.

And of course every great fragrance needs a great commercial to go with it - great being of course one that involves beautiful women, hot men, amazing scenery and a sports car and in that case Pour Femme has it all! Enjoy the making of video and drink in all the eye candy...

Fragrant Friday - Lady Gaga Fame

Is Lady Gaga all kinds of crazy-pants? You betcha! Crazy like a fox? Could be - it's hard to tell these days with celebrities what is actual crazy and what is just marketing crazy. But like every other self-respecting fame-whore The Ga has got herself a fragrance, which is also kind of nuts but smells surprisingly good!

Lady Gaga Fame - 30ml EDP - $39, 50ml EDP - $59, 100ml EDP - $89 - with a very different formulation then what we are used to seeing with fragrances. Rather then having top, heart and base notes, it uses a "push-pull technology" that allows the ingredients to randomly rise and fall when worn on the skin.

The scent is built around three main accords: dark, sensual and light. The dark accord was inspired by Belladonna, the deadly nightshade possessed by haunted beauties since the 18th century. From this darkness, the fragrance evolves to a sensual accord of opulence, a fusion of dripping honey, saffron and apricot nectar. And lastly, the light accord whispers magnificence. The rich floral layer of crushed Tiger Orchid & Jasmine Sambac embodies timeless beauty. The accords work together to create a fragrance of floral and fruity elements, with the star ingredient inspired by Belladonna leveling out the whole fragrance and giving it its signature as a scent.


What I think is really interesting is the juice - the first ever black EDP! Meant to represent the dark side of fame - it's black in the bottle but sprays on clear - and surprisingly, I really like the scent - it smells fruity and warm on me!

Fragrant Friday - Lady Million EDT by Paco Rabanne

Paco Rabanne Lady Million - 50ml EDT - $68 - a lighter, fresher and more relaxed version of the original Lady Million EDP from 2010.

The new fragrance is a fresh floral - woody bouquet with top notes of neroli and lily of the valley; heart notes of hyacinth and gardenia; and base notes of honey and patchouli.

Of course how can you not love the big diamond shaped bottle - giant diamonds are the best kind!

Available now at Shoppers Drug Mart, Sephora and other fine stores across Canada.

And it's not a new fragrance without a fun ad and this one really tickles me...
