Your life could be worse, you could have to work with Jennifer Lopez!

I always knew Jennifer Lopez would have to have a sense of humour about herself to be married to Marc Anthony and these commercials promoting her new clothing line at Kohl's seems to confirm my theory.
More proof that famous people get away with murder (and pen clicking)!

Jennifer Lopez Loves TOUS Accessories...and So Do We!

That American Idol gig turned out to be very profitable for Jennifer Lopez: she has been endorsing Venus razors, L'Oreal products and if that wasn't enough she's the new face of TOUS Jewelery for Summer 11. Our golden girl is so full of ca$hola she can taste it.

Joke aside, this ad campaign is super cute and JLO definitely delivers!

Jennifer Lopez becomes the latest brand ambassador for L’Oréal Paris

Jennifer has been a busy girl lately, not only has she signed up to be one of the new judges on American Idol, she has also taken on a global brand ambassador role for L’Oréal Paris.  We can look forward to seeing her in early 2011 for the new EverSleek haircare product line.

I'm liking this move that companies have been making towards more "real" looking people - not that Jen is ordinary looking or anything, obviously she is gorgeous - but she is certainly no stick person and that makes me happy!

Fashion Disasters: JLO Wears a Garbage Bag and Still Looks Better than Her Guests

I almost forgot about Jennifer Lopez' British movie premiere this week. How could I forget this Fashion Disasters Festival? Jumpsuit? Check! Fishnet dress? Check! Denim dress? Check! A bunch of unknown pop tarts showed up at the Backup Plan Premiere...and what a feast for my eyes: they didn't disappoint!

New and Notable at Shoppers Drug Mart - Givenchy, JLo, Dermaglow and Annabelle!

Givenchy - Be Givenchy - 50ml - $60 - Givenchy fragrances tend to be too floral for my taste so this one was a pleasant surprise.  A fruity floral with top notes of lime, ginger and sour cherry - the floral heart is honeysuckle, jasmine and orange blossom - with a woody base of cedar, musk and amber.  I also love the heavy square bottle - the fragrance is pink and the top is orange - so pretty!

JLo - Blue Glow - 100ml - $59 - The bottle is the same as Glow but blue this time - it also reminds me of Cool Water. Top notes combine mangostine, Valencia orange and cranberry blossom - heart incorporates wild water lily, vintage rose, vanilla orchid and foamy aquatic accords and the base features a blend of cedar, sandalwood, mahogany, moss and Venezuelan Tonka.  I liked this one a lot more than I have liked any of her other scents, my only complaint would be that I didn't find the staying power was great.  This would be one that I would want to layer with the body lotion so it would last longer.

Dermaglow Moisture has 2 new products:
Thermal Moisturizing Cleanser - 150ml - $35 - gently removes makeup and impurities without drying skin.  Provides immediate moisturizing relief to dry skin.  Helps restore skin's vital moisture barrier and is ideal for dry and very dry skin.  Contains natural oils, shea butter, jojoba seed oil and Vitamin E.  No parabens, fragrance or colourant.
Advanced Moisturizing Cream - 50ml - $50 - Provides immediate and long-term hydration relief.  Regulates and retains moisture in the skin.  Protects skin against enviromental elements and replenishes skin's moisture barrier.
These sound like great products if you are a dry skin sufferer!

If you are a fan of mineral makeup you should check out Annabelle mineral powders for eyes and face.
Pigment Dust for eyes - $9.49 - in 7 colours: prism, solar, golden pink, azure, violet vibe, eco-chic and myth.  I am especially loving azure - it is such a beautiful blue!
Powder Foundation - $15.99 - in 4 colours: natural ivory, nearly nude, barely beige and true beige.  Comes in a little plasic pouch with a kabuki brush.
Blush - $13.99 - in 3 colours: sugar rush, hush and au naturel - same case and brush.
Bronzer - $13.99 - terra - also has the case and brush.
You'll be pleased to know that the whole line is paraben, talc, oil and perfume free.  It is also hypo allergenic and non-comedogenic.

Until next week, happy shopping and be sure to share any of your finds!

American Music Awards: Why So Drab?

The American Music Awards red carpet was almost recession worthy tonight. It was black, white, grey and tan outfits all around. The occasional shimmer and sparkle reminded us it was still an awards show and not a funeral.

The stage outfits have been getting weirder by the minute courtesy of Lady Gaga and Rihanna, or maybe I'm just getting old and I don't understand what's edgy anymore. I do fear for Rihanna's state of mind though, she got a new tattoo on her chest!

The Black Eyed Peas' hairdresser has mad skills!

Nicole Kidman, frozen in time and wearing a grey asymmetrical dress, another trend of the evening.

Kerry Hilson, covered up in a black and sparkly number.

Kelly Clarkson in another black and sparkly dress. Do you think all these celebrities use the same discount stylist?

Rihanna showing off a new classy tattoo and wearing a weird stage getup.

Alien called from 1979 and wants his bones back. I know it's a stage outfit but it's kind of a mess. Lady Gaga has redefined the word "weird". Look it up in your 2010 dictionary.  The dancers in the background seem to be having a good time though...so who am I to judge?

The big winner of the evening (appearing by video link), Taylor Swift, dressed more like a Mormon than a young country star. Does that mean that she actually has talent?

Black and gold for Alicia Keys. And weird Heidi Hair. She should ask help from the Black Eyed Peas' hairdresser.

Same hair on Jennifer Lopez. Ugh. Also the boxer theme is so Madonna from last year. Get on with the program, girl.

Anyway, I'm off to bed. My bitchiness needs to be refueled.

Update: Here is what the West Coast missed: Jennifer Lopez falling on her ass. Don't worry it didn't hurt with all that padding.
