Hi fairies,
I think all
of us, at least once, fell in love with a high end product and decided to
purchase even if it was very expensive; it happens to me few times, sometimes I
was mesmerized by the packaging but that doesn’t happen often, I usually don’t
buy just because I like packaging, and other times I felt that product was the
right one and I had to have it! Not all high end products I bought were as good
as I thought they were, some failed my expectations , and today I’m going to
mention them and I’m going to tell you why I don’t like them! In other words,
the following products aren’t worth the money in my opinion; if you love them
let me know what you love about them, I’m aware each product might work for
some and might not work for someone else, I’m curious to know what your
experience has been!
Let’s start
with Nars Audacious lipstick: I’ve got the shade Angela, a beautiful orchid
purple, and I had been wanting to try a Nars lipstick for quite a while but I
always ended up waiting and giving priority to other products(maybe I should
have followed my instinct), so when I eventually purchased I was really excited
about it! I love the shade, it’s pigmented, the color pay off is good and even
when it fades away it leaves your lips stained; the texture is creamy, but what
I don’t like about this product is that it doesn’t stay in place, it smudges
like no other even though I always use a lip pencil underneath and I rarely
experienced smudging, actually I can’t remember when the last time was. The
lasting power is ridiculous, it stays on two hours and then you’re left with
stained lips ; lipsticks last pretty long on my lips, this one is the exception
and, to be honest, for a 30 € lipstick
it’s unacceptable! It performs poorly, I expect a drugstore lipstick to smudge
and to last two hours, I definitely don’t expect it by a high end product!
Another
lipstick that failed me is Guerlain rouge G l’extrait in M27 :it’s a lip tint ,
it comes with the sponge applicator, it applies creamy and once it’s set it
changes to matte, basically it does what every lip tint does. It retailed at
about 40 € , so it was expensive , therefore I expected it to perform
flawlessy. First of all I’m not a fan of the packaging, it’s not easy to open
and close, I had to google it because I couldn’t figure it out! It’s quite
tricky to be honest, and it’s totally pointless: other lip tints work just as
well with a simple and traditional lid!as for the product itself it’s not bad,
it’s easy to apply, it sets matte and it’s quite long lasting, it’s a bit
drying on the lips and it tends to fade in the center after 4-5 hours. Is it
worth 40 €? Absolutely not! There are better lip tints, for example sephora
ones, that perform way better than this one and they retail at 10 € , this one
is ridiculously overpriced in my opinion!
Let’s move
on to foundations: my holy grail foundation is Mac studio fix fluid, it’s the
perfect match for my skin type, which is oily, and it does what I want a foundation
to do, it keeps my skin matte, it keeps shine under control, it provides full
coverage! I like to try other foundations every now and then, just to see if
there are better ones, and I bought dior skin foundation because of that. It
retails at 43.00 € more or less, it’s more expensive than Mac, but I haven’t
seen any significant difference. Maybe it’s not the best foundation for my skin
type, but basically it didn’t impress me much. It provides medium coverage, it
doesn’t set into fine lines and it lasts around 6-8 hours, but I prefer Mac one
over this one because it works better at keeping shine at bay, it makes my skin
look flawless, it provides more coverage. Would I repurchase it? No I wouldn’t!
Last but
not least I’d like to mention Dior nail polishes, or any other nail polish in
the 30 € price range: for someone who loves buying many nail polishes like me
spending so much for one bottle is not worth it, and I’ll tell you why; first
of all Dior or Chanel nail polishes don’t last longer than kiko or china glaze
ones on my nails, they all last 4-5 days without chipping, so they don’t
perform better than 5-10 € nail polishes; second of all I can find most shades
in any low cost color range, they don’t come out with unique colors, which is the
only reason why I might purchase a high end nail polish; if it’s not a unique
shade then I’ll go for less expensive brands that perform exactly like high end
ones!

Credo che a tutti noi sia capitato,almeno una volta, di innamorarsi di un prodotto
costoso e di volerlo comprare nonostante il prezzo alto;ovviamente è successo
anche a me, non spesso, qualche volta sono rimasta incantata dalla confezione
anche se, di solito, non compro basandomi solo su quest’ultima; altre volte ho
invece pensato che quel prodotto facesse proprio al caso mio e che dovevo
averlo!non tutti i prodotti costosi che ho acquistato si sono rivelati
all’altezza delle aspettative, e oggi vi dirò quali mi hanno deluso e perché!
In parole povere i prodotti che andrò ad elencare non valgono, secondo me, il
prezzo che costano; se voi li amate fatemi sapere quali sono le caratteristiche
che vi hanno conquistato, so bene che ogni prodotto può andar bene per alcuni e
può essere un fallimento per altri, sono curiosa di conoscere le vostre
esperienze!
Iniziamo dal rossetto Nars Audacious: ho comprato il colore
Angela, un bellissimo viola orchidea, ed era da diverso tempo che volevo
provare uno di questi rossetti, ma finivo sempre col rimandare e col dare la
priorità ad altri prodotti (forse avrei dovuto dare retta al mio istinto),
quindi quando finalmente l’ho acquistato ero molto felice di usarlo!mi piace
molto il colore, è pigmentato, la resa è buona e, anche quando sbiadisce,
lascia le labbra tinte; la consistenza è cremosa, ma quello che non mi piace di
questo rossetto è che non si fissa, esce fuori dai contorni nonostante io usi
sempre una matita labbra abbinata e mi capiti raramente che un rossetto sbavi,
a dire il vero non ricordo quando è stata l’ultima volta. La durata è
penosa,non resiste più di due ore, dopo le quali vi lascia le labbra
leggermente colorate; i rossetti hanno , in genere, una buona durata su di me,
questo fa eccezione e, ad essere sincera,per un rossetto che costa 30 € è
inaccettabile! Mi aspetto dei risultati così scarsi da rossetti economici, non
mi aspetto che un prodotto di alta profumeria non si fissi e duri due ore!
Un altro rossetto che mi ha deluso è il Guerlain rouge G
l’extrait in M27: è una tinta labbra, è dotata del classico applicatore a
spugnetta, ha una consistenza cremosa quando la si applica e diventa opaca una
volta fissatasi, praticamente è una classica tinta labbra. Viene venduta a
circa 40 € , possiamo quindi dire che è costosa, e mi aspetto che un prodotto
del genere abbia una resa impeccabile. Prima di tutto non mi piace la
confezione,non è facile aprirla e chiuderla, ho dovuto cercare su google come
fare perché non riuscivo! È piuttosto macchinosa,ed è totalmente inutile: le
altre tinte labbra con la chiusura tradizionale funzionano benissimo! Il
prodotto in sé non è male, è facile da stendere,diventa opaco una volta fissato
e ha una buona durata. Secca un po’ le labbra e tende a svanire al centro dopo
4-5 ore. Vale 40 €? Assolutamente no! Ci sono altre tinte labbra,ad esempio
quelle di Sephora, che hanno prestazioni migliori di questa e costano 10 €,
questa tinta è decisamente troppo costosa per quel che mi riguarda!
Passiamo ai fondotinta: il mio fondotinta preferito è il Mac
studio fix fluid, è perfetto per il mio tipo di pelle,che è grassa, e fa quello
che chiedo a un fondotinta, vale a dire opacizza, tiene la lucidità sotto
controllo e mi permette di ottenere una copertura totale! Di tanto in tanto mi
viene voglia di provarne altri, per scoprire se sono ancora meglio del Mac, ed
è con questo spirito che ho acquistato il Dior Skin. Costa più o meno 43 €, è
più costoso del fondotinta Mac, ma non ho notato nessuna differenza
significativa. Forse non è il fondotinta ideale per il mio tipo di pelle, ma
per riassumere non mi ha entusiasmato. La copertura è media, non enfatizza le
rughette di espressione e dura circa 6-8 ore, ma preferisco il fondotinta Mac
perché è più efficace nel tenere sotto controllo la lucidità e nell’opacizzare,
e la copertura che si ottiene è totale. Lo ricomprerei? No!
Come ultimo prodotto, ma non per importanza, voglio citare
gli smalti Dior, e in generale tutti gli smalti che si collocano in una fascia
di prezzo intorno ai 30 €: per chi , come me, ama comprare smalti molto spesso
, spendere così tanto per un solo smalto non vale la pena, e vi spiego il
perché: prima di tutto gli smalti Dior o Chanel non durano più a lungo di
quelli Kiko o china glaze sulle mie unghie,la durata media , per tutti, è di
4-5 giorni senza sbeccarsi, quelli da 30 € non hanno una durata eccezionale;
inoltre riesco a trovare le stesse colorazioni anche tra gli smalti meno
costosi, non mettono in commercio colori unici, che potrebbe essere l’unica
ragione , per me, che mi spingerebbe a spendere 30 € per uno smalto; se
non sono di fronte a un colore
particolare opto per marche meno costose, che hanno la stessa identica resa di
quelle di alta profumeria!
