Since I’ve
found out cold pink shades are my kind of nude I bought a couple of them, and I
obviously compared them to those I had already, that weren’t many. My recent
favourite has been Mac a novel romance, I’ve been using it a lot this year, so
I thought it was a good idea to compare it to one of the first Mac lipsticks
I’ve ever bought, saint germain, which is quite popular and, to be honest, not
loved by many, but I am the exception , I adore it!
Let’s see
how Mac describes their lipsticks: color plus texture for the lips,stands out
on the runway. Simmers on the street! What made Mac famous! Finish is
amplified. Price is 18.65 € -16.00 $ for 3g/0.1 US oz.

What I like
: I love the shade, which is described as a light cool pink, and that’s exactly
how I would described it, it’s pigmented, it’s an amplified so it applies
creamy and evenly, but it doesn’t smudge and it’s very longlasting, at least
six hours on my lips! It’s very
comfortable, it’s not sticky, it’s not streaky, it’s got a subtle shine to it ,
like all amplified lipsticks, that wears off with time, it stays put after
drinking coffee and after eating if I’m careful, it’s not as long lasting as
matte lipsticks but I can’t complain!
What I
don’t like :The shade is a cool bubblegum pink basically, and it complements my
skin tone really well, while it might look a bit ashy or off on deeper
complexions in my opinion, I suggest to swatch it before buying it because it’s
not one of those so called universal shades. Once the shiny finish goes away it
looks a bit chalky and I prefer to touch it up, I think it’s because of the
solid and pastel color , it’s basically just an impression because it feels
comfortable on my lips all day long .

What I like
: I love the color, a pale cool tone pink, perfect for everyday looks , great
when I do dramatic eye makeup looks, it adds a dash of color to my lips without
being too much; it was part of a novel romance collection and it’s not
available anymore unfortunately, that’s why I’m trying to make it last as long
as I can! It’s a crème sheen lipstick and I like this finish, it’s long lasting
on my lips just like satin ones, I love how comfortable it feels, how easy it
is to apply , how it glides on my lips and it doesn’t set into fine lines, not
even after I’ve been wearing it for hours, and most of all I love the color!
What I
don’t like : I don’t like that it’s a limited edition lipstick, I need to find
a dupe if it’s not going to be part of the permanent line, and at the moment
it’s not so I’ve already started comparisons! It’s not my longest lasting
lipstick, it definitely needs to be touched up after a meal or throughout the
day , but l think it depends on the light color and not only on the finish, because
it’s well pigmented.
Differences:
The main
difference stands in the finish, one is an amplified and the other one is a
crème sheen, the first one lasts longer and it sets on the lips better, the second
one is a bit shinier and sheerer; I prefer saint germain when we talk about
finish, but I like a novel romance color a bit more, just because is more
wearable and it matches basically any color combo. Saint germain is more unique
and bright, I love it but I can’t use it as a nude lipstick if you get what I mean. They’re both great
products, your choice depends on what you’re looking for and what kind of
result and color pay off you want from a lipstick, it also depends on your skin
tone, they both actually complements fair skin tones better in my opinion,especially
saint germain, but with some little
trick dark complexions can pull them off!

Da quando ho scoperto che le tonalità rosa fredde sono
quelle che mi si addicono di più per quanto riguarda i nude, ne ho comprate
alcune e le ho confrontate con quelle che già possedevo, che non erano molte.
Uno dei miei favoriti più recenti è Mac a novel romance, che ho usato molto
quest’anno, tanto che ho pensato sarebbe stata una buona idea quella di
paragonarlo a uno dei primi rossetti Mac che ho comprato, il Saint Germain, un
colore abbastanza conosciuto e, a dirla tutta, non proprio amato
incondizionatamente, ma io faccio eccezione, infatti lo adoro!

Cosa mi piace: mi piace la tonalità, descritta come un rosa
chiaro dal sottotono freddo, ed è esattamente così, la descrizione calza a
pennello; è molto pigmentato, la finitura è amplified e infatti si stende
agevolmente e uniformemente, non sbava e dura a lungo, almeno sei ore sulle mie
labbra! È molto confortevole, non è appiccicoso, non compaiono striature,
risulta leggermente lucido , come tutti gli amplified, e questa lucidità
svanisce poi pian piano col passare delle ore. Non va ritoccato dopo aver
bevuto un caffè e nemmeno dopo aver mangiato, se avete avuto un po’ di
accortezza, ovviamente non ha la stessa durata di un rossetto opaco, ma direi
che non ci si può lamentare!
Cosa non mi piace: io descriverei il colore come un rosa
bubblegum dal sottotono freddo, che sta benissimo con la mia carnagione ma che
potrebbe risultare troppo chiaro e gessoso su carnagioni scure, vi consiglio di
provarlo prima di acquistarlo perché non è uno di quei colori che stanno bene a
tutte. Una volta che la finitura lucida svanisce , l’aspetto del rossetto
risulta leggermente gessoso, anche se continua ad essere confortevole e morbido
sulle labbra, è solo una questione estetica dovuta, secondo me, al colore pieno
e pastello, ma io in genere preferisco ritoccarlo e rinfrescarlo per ovviare al
problema.

Cosa mi piace: mi piace molto il colore, un rosa chiaro con
sottotono freddo, perfetto per tutti i giorni, eccezionale quando il mio trucco
occhi è importante e colorato e quando voglio aggiungere un tocco di colore
alle labbra senza enfatizzarle troppo; era parte della collezione a novel
romance e , purtroppo, non è più disponibile, ecco perché sto cercando di farlo
durare il più a lungo possibile!
la finitura è creme sheen, ha una buona durata, al pari dei rossetti satin secondo la mia esperienza, è estremamente confortevole sulle labbra, è facile da applicare, scivola sulle labbra e non si insinua nelle pieghette, anche dopo che ce l’ho indosso da diverse ore, ma più di tutto amo la tonalità di questo rossetto!

della collezione permanente, e al momento non ne fa parte, devo assolutamente
trovare un rossetto simile, tant’è che ho già iniziato a cercarne uno!
