1985 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 5-Speed
This 1985 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 was previously sold on BaT in September 2020 before it was acquired by the current owner on BaT in December 2020 and subsequently fitted with a five-speed H55F manual transmission and an Old Man Emu 2″ suspension lift. The truck has been refinished in Silver Metallic over striped gray cloth and is powered by a 4.2-liter 2F inline-six linked to a two-speed transfer case. Equipment includes front disc brakes, 15″ chrome wheels, air conditioning, Polk Audio speakers, and an Alpine touchscreen head unit. This FJ60 shows 90k miles and is offered in Oregon by the seller on behalf of the owner with service records, owner’s and maintenance manuals, two keys and remotes, Carhartt seat covers, removed factory parts, an accident-free Carfax report, and a clean California title.
Finished from the factory in Silver Metallic (147), the truck was repainted and the bumpers, trim pieces, and rubber seals were reportedly replaced in approximately 2019. A replacement Toyota windshield was installed in 2021, and Australian-style mirrors and LED rear and auxiliary lighting have been fitted. Additional exterior details include round headlights, mud flaps, a split tailgate, and a receiver hitch. The removed factory license plate light and side mirrors are included in the sale along with a set of LED headlamps.
The 15″ chrome wheels were mounted with 33×10.5″ BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires in 2021. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums. The truck is equipped with manually locking front hubs and was fitted with an Old Man Emu steering stabilizer and 2″ suspension lift under current ownership, which is said to have been revised to adjust the rake angle by Deaver Springs in Santa Ana, California.
The front bucket seats and folding rear bench are upholstered in striped gray cloth with vinyl sides and backing and are accompanied by matching door panels. Appointments include air conditioning, a rear seat heater, a locking center console, under-dash courtesy lights, front remote keyless locking, an Alpine touchscreen head unit with a backup camera, and Polk Audio rear speakers with 3D-printed grilles to match the look of the front factory speaker grilles. The removed factory stereo, speakers, and center console will accompany the vehicle along with aftermarket floor mats. The seller notes that Carhartt seat covers have been fitted in preparation for the sale, which can be viewed at the end of the gallery below.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames an 85-mph speedometer, a 4,500-rpm tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, fuel level, and voltage. The six-digit odometer shows 90k miles, approximately 8k of which were added under current ownership.
The 4.2-liter 2F inline-six is equipped with a single carburetor and was factory rated at 135 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque. The oil cooler lines, water pump, thermostat, fan clutch, and drive belt were changed in 2021, and the spark plugs, ignition wires, distributor cap and rotor, radiator and catalytic converter were replaced in 2024.
A five-speed H55F manual transmission was installed and the driveshafts were serviced in 2021, while the clutch was replaced the following year. Work was completed by K&H Import and Repair Center of Canoga Park, California. Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a two-speed transfer case.
The Carfax report lists one open recall.
