1971 Chevrolet K5 Blazer 4×4
This 1971 Chevrolet K5 Blazer underwent refurbishment work under prior ownership and was sold on BaT in October 2020. Work included removing the body from the frame, performing rust repair, and refinishing the truck in red over black vinyl and houndstooth inserts. Power comes from a 350ci V8 mated to a three-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case, and equipment includes a body-color hardtop, a black bikini soft top, 15″ Rally-style wheels, manually-locking front hubs, power-assisted front disc brakes, chrome bumpers, air conditioning, a roll bar, power steering, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a RetroSound head unit. The selling dealer acquired the truck in March 2023 and previously offered on BaT in June 2024. This K5 Blazer is offered by the selling dealer with service records and a transferable New York registration.
During work that reportedly occurred from 2018 through 2019, the body was removed from the frame, rust repair was performed, and a color change from yellow to red was carried out. Exterior details include a textured body-color hardtop, a black bikini soft top, chrome bumpers and side mirrors, vent windows, and dual exhaust outlets exiting behind each rear tire. Additional close-up images detailing badging, lighting, and trim are included in the gallery below.
The 15″ Rally-style wheels are said to have been refinished and are mounted with 32×11.50″ Mastercraft Courser MXT tires. Manually-locking hubs are fitted up front and braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
The front bucket seats and rear bench are trimmed in black vinyl with houndstooth inserts. Sheetmetal surfaces are finished in body color, and appointments include air conditioning, a four-point roll bar, power steering, hand-crank side windows, lap belts, a RetroSound head unit, and JL Audio speakers.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts a 100-mph speedometer and supplementary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 19k miles, and true mileage is unknown.
The carbureted 350ci V8 is said to have been overhauled during previous ownership. The oil pan, timing cover, and valve covers were resealed in 2021, and a positive battery terminal was replaced. Fluid services were carried out in preparation for the sale.
Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a three-speed TH350 automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. A transmission linkage bushing was replaced in preparation for the sale.
The truck does not have a title, as it is registered in a state that does not issue titles for a vehicle of its age. It is being sold on its transferable New York registration.
