1977 Land Rover Range Rover 2-Door 5-Speed
This 1977 Land Rover Range Rover is a left-hand-drive two-door example that was originally sold in Germany, where it was used as a fire department vehicle in the town of Hechingen. The truck was acquired by the current owner in 2017, and subsequent work included repainting the body in white, installing a five-speed manual transmission, and adding FiTech fuel injection to the 3.5-liter Rover V8. Additional features include a dual-range transfer case, 16″ steel wheels, a Pioneer stereo, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and seats trimmed in brown cloth and vinyl. This two-door Range Rover is now offered on dealer consignment in the Netherlands with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, service records, and Dutch registration.
Revealed to the public in June 1970, the Range Rover was billed as “a car for all reasons” and featured a three-door body with a split rear tailgate. This example was previously finished in orange and was repainted in white under current ownership. Exterior equipment includes fog lights, a vinyl-trimmed roof, sliding rear windows, rear mud flaps, a rear window wiper, and a tow ball.
The 16″ steel wheels are mounted with 205/80 Michelin Latitude Cross tires that the seller states were installed in 2022.
The cabin houses front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in brown cloth and vinyl. Interior appointments include a Pioneer stereo, a lockable glovebox, and a heater.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts a 200-km/h speedometer and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. A tachometer is affixed to the dash, and auxiliary readouts are located in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 32k kilometers (~20k miles), approximately 5k kilometers of which were added under current ownership.
The 3.5-liter Rover V8 is said to be equipped with a FiTech fuel injection system. A five-speed manual transmission and a replacement clutch were installed in 2018 according to the seller, who notes that the tappets were replaced and the transmission was rebuilt in 2020. The seller notes a rattle when the gearbox is in neutral and that the engine takes longer to start when warm.

The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate lists factory equipment and indicates that the car was dispatched on April 1, 1977, to Arthur Bruggerman & Company of Dusseldorf in Germany.
A photo book, a service log, manufacturer’s literature, a steering wheel, and recent service records will accompany the vehicle.
The car does not have a title, as it is registered in a country that does not issue titles for road vehicles. It is being sold on its Dutch registration.
