Description

pH保護皮膜又は層286に対するFTIRスペクトルでは、通常、Si-O-Si対称伸縮ピーク及び非対称伸縮ピークは、融合して単純なピークを形成するように見え、一方で潤滑性皮膜に対するスペクトル(例えば、米国特許第7,985,188号明細書において言及されている)では、Si-O-Si対称伸縮ピーク及び非対称伸縮ピークは、波数の低い側(図7の右側)に肩部を有する複合ピークを形成し、肩部は非対称伸縮を示す。
タイコート皮膜又は層は、内部表面において本質的にSiOxCy(式中、それぞれX線光電子分光法(XPS)によって求められた場合にxが約0.5~約2.4であり、及びyが約0.6~約3である)からなる。

作用理論
本発明者らは、本明細書に記載のpH保護皮膜又は層の以下の作用理論を提供する。本発明は、この理論の精度にも、この理論の使用により予測可能な実施形態にも限定されるものではない。
本明細書に記載のPECVD三層被覆は、例えば、真空排気された血液試料採取管として有用な血液試料採取管などの1~5mL容器に対して、以下のように適用され得る。より大きいか又は小さい容器では、当業者が本明細書の教示を考慮して実施することができるパラメータの調整が必要となる。
単一の有機ケイ素モノマー(HMDSO)及び酸素の流量を調整し、また各層間のPECVD発生電力を(いかなる2つの層間の真空も遮断することなく)変更することにより、本明細書に記載の三層皮膜を塗布する。
6mL血液試料採取管に対して同様の試験を実施し、1回の試験では、本「結合」プロセスに従って被覆した管のOPRCは0.00344μmol O2/(日×cm2×atm)であり、標準偏差は0.0011である。
プラズマ生成電力(代替的に、本明細書では同じ概念を「エネルギ」と呼ぶ)を連続的に印加する代わりに、5Hzの周波数及び50%のデューティサイクルを有するパルスで印加し、表6に示す総時間に対して繰り返すことを除き、実施例1と同様の試験を実施する。
この検査は、皮膜又は層の結果としての酸素透過速度(OTR)又は酸素透過速度定数(OPRC)に対する、被覆プロセス中の印加電力の影響を求めるために実施した。

この検査は、三層皮膜の結果としての酸素透過速度(OTR)又は酸素透過速度定数(OPRC)に対する、バリア被覆プロセス中の皮膜又は層前駆体HMDSOの供給速度の影響を求めるものであった。
この例では、最良のバリア皮膜又は層性能(即ち、最低のOPRC及びOTR)を得るように被覆条件を最適化するように、電力、HMDSO供給速度及び被覆時間を変更した。プロセス情報は、タイコート皮膜又は層及びpH保護皮膜又は層に対して表7(4-Up)に、バリア層に対して表11に示す。結果を表11に示す。最良の結果は、第2の試験で1.0sccm HMDSOの供給、185.0ワットの電力及び15.0秒の時間で達成された。
この検査は、三層皮膜又は層の結果としての酸素透過速度(OTR)又は酸素透過速度定数(OPRC)に対する、被覆プロセス中の加えられた圧力の影響を求めるものであった。加えられる圧力が3.92トルであった実施例4~実施例7と比較して、実施例8では、加えられる圧力は1.6トルであった。結果を表12に示した。
これは、圧力差試験であり、試験条件を、70,000フィートの高度での周囲大気圧を模擬するように設定した。この試験は、本明細書に記載の保持機能を備えた三層被覆血液管が無傷のままであり且つ圧力変化に耐えることができるか否かを判断するために行った。この試験は、本発明の血液管が感染性血液試料を輸送するのに適しているか否かを予測するために重要であった。それは合否試験であった。
Claims (13)
- 真空排気された採血管であって、
熱可塑性容器壁;及び
ストッパ
を含み、
前記熱可塑性容器壁が、
開口部を画定する頂部と、
内腔を画定する内側面であって、PECVDにより適用された1つ又は複数の皮膜を有する内側面と、
外側面と、
前記頂部に隣接するストッパ接触領域であって、前記ストッパに接触する前記内側面の部分であるストッパ接触領域と
を有し、
前記ストッパは前記ストッパ接触領域に封止され、前記内腔を封止し、
前記ストッパ接触領域は、0~1.3度だけ内向きにテーパが付けられ、前記ストッパ接触領域の下方の前記内側面の全体は、前記ストッパ接触領域より少なくとも0.1度だけ更にテーパが付けられ、
前記ストッパ接触領域は、前記ストッパ接触領域の下方の前記内側面と連続している、
真空排気された採血管。 - 前記ストッパ接触領域の下方の前記内側面の全体が、
少なくとも1.5度だけテーパが付けられている、請求項1に記載の真空排気された採血管。 - 前記ストッパ接触領域は0.3~1度だけ内向きにテーパが付けられている、請求項1に記載の真空排気された採血管。
- 前記内側面は、
PECVD被覆プロセスによって適用されたSiOx(式中、XPSによって求められた場合にxが1.5~2.9である)のバリア層;並びに、
PECVD被覆プロセスによって適用されたSiOxCyのタイコート層、及びPECVD被覆プロセスによって適用されたSiOxCyのpH保護層の少なくとも一方
を含む、請求項1に記載の真空排気された採血管。 - 前記内側面は、
PECVD被覆プロセスによって適用されたSiOxCyのタイコート層と、
前記タイコート層と前記内腔との間で、PECVD被覆プロセスによって適用されたSiOx(式中、XPSによって求められた場合にxが1.5~2.9である)のバリア層と、
前記バリア層と前記内腔との間で、PECVD被覆プロセスによって適用されたSiOxCy(式中、それぞれXPSによって求められた場合にxが約0.5~約2.4であり、yが約0.6~約3である)のpH保護層
を含む、請求項1に記載の真空排気された採血管。 - 前記ストッパは、患者の静脈から前記内腔内に血液を引き込むのに十分である、海面の周囲圧力に対する真空レベルを前記内腔内において維持する、請求項1に記載の真空排気された採血管。
- 前記ストッパが前記ストッパ接触領域において周囲圧力より97.5kPa低い真空レベルで着座したままである、請求項6に記載の真空排気された採血管。
- 少なくとも6か月の保管寿命を有し、前記保管寿命が、真空排気後に前記管が同じ種類の新たに真空排気された容器の引込体積容量の少なくとも90%の引込体積容量を維持する時間によって定義される、請求項6に記載の真空排気された採血管。
- 0.0001~0.01のマイクロモルO 2 /(日×cm 2 ×atm)の酸素透過速度定数を有する、請求項6に記載の真空排気された採血管。
- 前記壁が50℃及び90%相対湿度で2.5g/m 2 /日未満の水蒸気透過速度を有する、請求項6に記載の真空排気された採血管。
- 前記内腔内に流体組成物をさらに含む、請求項6に記載の真空排気された採血管。
- 前記流体組成物は血液抗凝固試薬である、請求項11に記載の真空排気された採血管。
- 前記血液抗凝固試薬はクエン酸ナトリウム緩衝液である、請求項12に記載の真空排気された採血管。
