I. Définitions & notations
Définition (matrice)
Une matrice de type (n , p) à coefficients dans ℝ (ou ℂ) est un tableau de
nombres réels (ou complexes) à n lignes et p colonnes.
1 2 0
Exemple avec n=2, p=3: A =
4 3 −1
ligne i aij
2 1 1
0 − 2 0
0 0 4
• Une matrice est triangulaire inférieure si : a = 0 ∀ i < j

III. Opérations sur les matrices
Définition (somme et multiplication par un scalaire)
Soient ∊ ℝ, A = (aij ) et B = (bij ) ∊ ℳ(n,p) (ℝ)
• A+B = (aij + bij ) ∊ ℳ(n,p) (ℝ)
• A = ( aij ) ∊ ℳ(n,p) (ℝ)
1) Addition, soustraction
Définition (Transposition)
On appelle transposée de A = (aij ) ∊ ℳ(n,p) (ℝ), la matrice tA = (aji ) ∊ ℳ(p,n) (ℝ)
Obtenue en permutant les lignes en colonnes.
