Jimmie Dale Gilmore is an American Country Singer and Songwriter from Amarillo, Texas.  His earliest musical influence was Hank Williams and the Honky Tonk brand of Country Music.  In the 1950s, he was exposed to the emerging Rock & Roll of other Texans such as Roy Orbison and Lubbock native Buddy Holly, as well as to Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley.  He was profoundly influenced in the 1960s by The Beatles and Bob Dylan and the Folk Music and Blues Revival in that decade.  With Joe Ely and Butch Hancock founded The Flatlanders, the group has been performing on and off since 1972.  He has been nominted for three Grammys, Best Contemporary Folk Album for Sprinning Around The Sun i. 1993, Best Comtemporary Folk Album Braver Newer World in 1996, and Best Traditional Folk Album Come On Back in 2005.

The Outlaw, especially he joined the Country Supergroup The Highwaymen, with Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and Kris Kristofferson.  His music styles uses a variety including Country, Folk, Rock, Blues, Pop and Jazz and he is the Icon in Country Music, influencing the New Country, New Tradition and Alternative Country in 1980s and 1990s.  He was inducted into the Country Music Hall Of Fame in 1933, and he received the Kennedy Center Honors in 1988, he was also inducted to the National Agricultural Hall Of Fame in 2011.
