Iloilo Butterscotch Guide

Proven and “tasted”, butterscotch is the top pasalubong item from Iloilo. Ironically not a home grown item like piaya or barquillos. But who cares really, for I was and still it's top "promoter"; from bringing it as pasalubong back to Manila before to now blogging and writing about it online. Butterscotch by Breadway

This was an impulse buy just to complete my review and collection of butterscotch in the city. Breadway is just one of "those" bakeshops in the city but being part of Robinsons' grocery definitely improved its being recognized. For PhP51.75 per pack of 10's, Breadway's butterscotch is one of the more expensive but eventually didn't live up to it. My first bite had me compare it to an uncooked bibingka center in texture. You can actually see the "unbaked" portion in these photos. They were moist and chewy alright but it had almost a bland taste. This is a good example of a butterscotch riding on the bandwagon.
