Green Tea Specials at Coffeebreak

Green is always IN and if you're into Green Tea, you'll surely love Coffeebreak's latest offering - a trio of Green Tea specials. I am a big fan of their Green Tea Frappe since it was included in their menu but I almost always  order it without cream. I just love savouring the green tea essence in every sip.  Now, it's green tea in every bite with this Green Tea Duet. Its the "green" version of the dessert called black sambo. Made with layers of gelatin - plain and one "spruced up" with green tea. For those not really into green tea, this is the perfect introduction to the world of green tea at Coffeebreak.  Finally, the ultimate green tea dessert - cheesecake. With a graham base, a rich green tea-based cream cheese and gelatin "filling" and topped with cream, it's almost guiltless in every bite. The green tea is very pronounced but the whipped cream topping complements every bite.  Try out this trio of Green Tea Speci...

An avenue of great foods and dining concepts

When The Avenue Complex was built a few years ago, I was excited to see a new development in the Smallville area that eventually brought nightlife to a higher level in terms of food and entertainment. It offers a complete dining and entertainment experience that cater to different crowds and palates as well as a club, mini-casino and function rooms. It has a Filipino fusion restaurant named Bauhinia Filipino Cuisine, an Italian restaurant Amalfi Cucina Italiana, an American bistro named Bourbon Street, a Greek inspired joint named Terra, a steakhouse named Mojave, an all dessert shop aptly named Nothing But Desserts, and a coffeeshop Coffeebreak. It also has function rooms named The Venue, Golden B mini casion and a club, Aura. It's a one stop dining and entertainment destination when in Iloilo City. A few weeks ago, together with popular travel blogger, Eric D of Byahilo travel blog, we experienced the best of The Avenue Complex upon the invitation of it's Marketing Manager...

Coffeebreak now brewing at Plazuela de Iloilo

The heavy rains that afternoon did hamper the scheduled opening of Coffeebreak's latest branch and as I was informed the first full franchise branch in Iloilo City. Father Bernabe Tutana led the short opening service while Mss. Fe Robles and Margareth Florete led the ribbon cutting ceremony afterwards. As invited guests started to pour in, they were welcomed with the usual modern and hip ambiance of Coffeebreak is popular for. With food display affront the usual brown and black motif, it was a very familiar sight with a much more familiar aroma in the air. Of course there's the signature canopy couch that often makes guests rush in to get but with Plazuela de Iloilo branch offering a good view and ambiance inside out- there's no need to rush in. A special occasion deserves special food and it never failed. A mix of Coffeebreak's specialty rolls (ham and cheese rolls and more ), a big version of Better Than Sex cake) and lasagna plus special eats brought in for the event...

Of fried halo-halo, gelato and more

I really like the convenience brought about by the adjoining branches of Green Mango and Coffeebreak . One can have the best of both fast food and coffee shop worlds in just one sitting. I’m particular about the one in front of the Nelly Garden because it offers a look, literally, into Iloilo’s glorious past while enjoying a cup of coffee or just having a filling lunch. The most recent, at Plaza Libertad, offers a different ambiance though still with an air of heritage brought about by the historic plaza upfront. But the most convenient for me is along Valeria Street - very accessible a nd walkable too, and almost where most of my reviews took place. It was almost like a “fiesta” recently when I visited Green Mango and Coffeebreak Valeria days ago. A late lunch it was but craving for my ultimate favorite – Bistek Tagalog was put on hold when I found out it was recently off the menu. I would have opted for ultimate craving – fried pork chop but I decided to ”beef up” and went for Beef...
