4,900-Mile 2009 Buell XB12R Firebolt
This 2009 Buell XB12R Firebolt was purchased by its current owner in 2014, and it is powered by an air-cooled 1,203cc V-twin paired with a five-speed transmission. Finished in Midnight Black, the bike is equipped with an in-frame fuel tank, an oil-carrying swingarm, a final-drive belt, 17″ alloy wheels, adjustable Showa suspension, and dual disc brakes with a perimeter rotor and ZTL caliper up front as well as a Drummer exhaust system, half-faired bodywork, clip-on-style handlebars, a GPR steering stabilizer, a side stand, and a solo seat. With a replacement battery installed in preparation for the sale, this Firebolt has 4,900 miles and is now offered at no reserve by the seller on behalf of its owner with a clean Florida title in the owner’s name.
The bodywork is finished in Midnight Black with Cherry Bomb graphics, and a matching translucent-red windscreen was equipped from the factory. The twin-spar aluminum frame carries the engine as a stressed member and also serves as a 5.3-gallon fuel tank. Additional features include a front fairing, a black vinyl-upholstered solo seat, dual fairing-mounted mirrors, a ProGrip tank pad, Knight Design foot pegs, a side stand, and a rear fender-eliminator kit. The passenger foot pegs have been removed and are included in the sale.
Red-finished 17″ alloy wheels are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Power tires that have 2013 and 2014 production-date codes. Adjustable Showa suspension consists of a 43mm inverted fork along with a monoshock mounted to the aluminum swingarm. Braking is provided by a ZTL eight-piston front caliper and a perimeter rotor up front as well as a single-piston caliper and a conventional rotor out back.
Clip-on-style handlebars are secured in the upper triple clamp, which carries a GPR steering stabilizer. Instrumentation ahead is comprised of a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 7k-rpm redline as well as an array of indicators. The digital odometer indicates 4,900 miles, approximately 500 of which were added under current ownership.
The air-cooled 1,203cc OHV Thunderstorm 1203 V-Twin is derived from the contemporary Harley-Davidson Sportster’s engine, and it was factory-rated at 103 horsepower and 84 lb-ft of torque in XB12R specification. The bike was factory-equipped with electronic fuel injection, and engine oil is carried within the swingarm. A Drummer exhaust system and an aftermarket billet-aluminum oil-catch can have been added along with a right-side air intake to cool the rear cylinder. The battery was replaced in November 2024.
Shifting is through a five-speed transmission, and power is delivered to the rear wheel via a final-drive belt.
