Description
図1は、本実施形態のプランジャポンプ1の概略構成を示す断面図である。この図に示すように、本実施形態のプランジャポンプ1は、ボディ2と、吸入機構3と、昇圧機構4と、吐出機構5と、ダンパ機構6とを備えている。なお、以下の説明では、燃料の昇圧を行うプランジャの軸芯を中心軸Lとし、この中心軸Lと直交する方向を径方向と称し、径方向における中心軸L側を径方向内側、径方向における中心軸Lと反対側を径方向外側と称する。また、プランジャポンプ1の設置姿勢は限定されないものの、説明の便宜上、図1における上側を上方、図1における下側を下方と称する。
図3(a)に示すように、加圧室R3の内周面に凹部2c(拡大間隙部)が形成されている。この凹部2cは、後述する昇圧プランジャ4bの周方向において吸入機構3と吐出機構5から離れた最もキャビテーションの発生しやすい位置であって、昇圧プランジャ4bの中心軸Lを含み吸入機構3の中心を通る平面を挟んで対向する2か所に設けられている。このような凹部2cは、昇圧プランジャ4bの中心軸Lに垂直な面によって切断される形状が円弧状となるような曲面を有している。なお、この凹部2cは、昇圧プランジャ4bの加圧室R3側端部の上死点から下死点までの間の少なくとも一部に連なって加圧室R3に露出するように形成されている。
さらに、凹部2cは、局所的な窪みであるため、デッドボリュームの増大を最小限に抑制することができる。
上記第1実施形態に係るプランジャポンプ1の変形例を第2実施形態として説明する。なお、同一の機構については符号を同一とし、説明を省略する。

Claims (8)
- 筒状の内周壁を持つ加圧室と、ガイド部により前記内周壁が延在する向きに摺動自在に保持された略円筒形状の外周面をもつプランジャとを備えるプランジャポンプであって、
前記内周壁は、前記プランジャの軸芯を中心とする周方向の一部に、前記加圧室に連通しかつ前記加圧室に燃料を取り込むための吸入開口を有し、
前記周方向における、前記吸入開口の形成位置を避けた位置の少なくとも一部に、前記吸入開口の形成位置におけるプランジャ周面から内周壁内周面までの前記プランジャの径方向の寸法よりも寸法が大きな拡大間隙部が形成されている
ことを特徴とするプランジャポンプ。 - 前記内周壁は、前記吸入開口の形成位置に対して前記プランジャを挟んで対向する位置に前記加圧室から燃料を吐出するための吐出開口を有し、
前記加圧室は、前記プランジャの軸芯に直交する断面形状が楕円形状とされ、
前記吸入開口及び前記吐出開口は、前記内周壁の短軸側に設けられ、
前記楕円形状の長軸側の内周壁と前記プランジャ外周面との間隔が前記拡大間隙部となる
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載のプランジャポンプ。 - 前記プランジャは、前記プランジャの軸芯が前記加圧室の中心を基準として前記吸入開口側に偏心して配置されることを特徴とする請求項2記載のプランジャポンプ。
- 前記内周壁は、前記プランジャの軸芯に直交する断面形状が円形状とされ、
前記プランジャの軸芯は、前記円形状の中心を基準として前記吸入開口側に偏心して配置される
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載のプランジャポンプ。 - 前記拡大間隙部は、前記内周壁に形成される凹部であることを特徴とする請求項1記載のプランジャポンプ。
- 前記内周壁には前記加圧室から燃料を吐出するための吐出開口が設けられ、
前記凹部は、前記周方向において前記吸入開口と前記吐出開口との間に設けられることを特徴とする請求項5記載のプランジャポンプ。 - 前記凹部は、前記周方向において、前記吸入開口より前記吐出開口に近い領域に設けられることを特徴とする請求項6記載のプランジャポンプ。
- 前記吸入開口と前記吐出開口とは、前記プランジャの軸芯を挟んで対向しない位置に設けられ、
前記凹部は、前記内周壁の内周面に形成されると共に、前記周方向において、前記吸入開口または前記吐出開口に対して前記プランジャの軸芯を挟んで対向する位置に設けられることを特徴とする請求項6または7に記載のプランジャポンプ。
