Abstract
Description
本出願は、それぞれ引用により本明細書中に組み込まれている、2011年12月29日出願の米国仮特許出願第61/581,583号(名称:「任意経路のMモード超音波イメージング(M-Mode Ultrasound Imaging Of Arbitrary Paths)」)及び2012年8月21日出願の米国仮特許出願第61/691,717号(名称:「生データメモリアーキテクチャ(Raw Data Memory Architecture)」)の利益を請求するものである。
本明細書で言及される全ての刊行物及び特許出願は、それぞれの刊行物及び特許出願が引用により明確かつ個別に本明細書中に組み込まれると示されたかのように、引用により本明細書中に組み込まれるものとする。
本発明は、全体として超音波イメージングに関し、詳細には任意経路のMモードイメージングに関する。
従来の超音波(又は本明細書で使用される「スキャンラインベース」超音波)は、フェーズドアレイ制御装置を利用して、実質的に線形の送信波形を形成して誘導する。Bモード画像を形成するために、一連のこのような線形波形(又は「スキャンライン」)を、目的の領域全体をスキャンするように形成して誘導することができる。エコーが、それぞれのスキャンラインに沿って受信される。次いで、完全なスキャンからの個々のスキャンラインを組み合わせて完全な画像(時には、「セクタースキャン」画像とも呼ばれる)を形成することができる。
従来の超音波システムでは、画像は、フェーズドアレイスキャンラインとして送信される一連のパルスからのエコーを組み合わせることによって形成される。このようなスキャンラインベース超音波イメージングシステムでは、ユーザインターフェイスによって使用される座標系は、通常はスキャンラインに沿って位置する。結果として、このようなシステムでは、Mモードラインを選択するためのユーザインターフェイスは、典型的には、スキャンラインの1つの所望のセグメントを選択することを含む。しかしながら、Mモードラインとしてスキャンラインを使用する必要があるとは、スキャンラインの少なくとも1つが、Mモードラインが通るのが望ましい解剖学的特徴を横断するように、超音波検査者が、プローブを配置して保持しなければならないことを意味する。実際、これは、困難であり、かつ/又は時間がかかり、視野を限定することがある。
図1Aは、Mモードイメージングシステム及び方法の一部の実施態様と共に使用することができる超音波イメージングシステムの構成要素を例示するブロック図である。図1Aの超音波システム10は、スキャンラインベースイメージングに特に適するようにすることができ、2D断層スライスとして又は体積画像データとしてリアルタイムの心臓画像を得るように構成することができる。該システムは、その素子が超音波信号を送信し、かつ/又は受信することができる1つ以上のトランスデューサアレイを備えるプローブ12を含む、他のシステムの構成要素を制御するように構成された中央制御装置/プロセッサを備えることができる。一部の実施態様では、トランスデューサアレイ(複数可)は、任意の適切なトランスデューサ材料から形成された1D、2D、又は他の次元のアレイを含み得る。該プローブは、一般的には、超音波を送信して、超音波エコー信号を受信するように構成することができる。一部の実施態様では、このような送信及び受信は、ビームフォーマー14を備え得る制御装置によって制御することができる。次いで、ビームフォーマー14からのエコー情報を、必要に応じて、Bモードプロセッサ20及び/又は他の特定用途向けプロセッサ(例えば、ドップラープロセッサ、コントラスト信号プロセッサ、エラストグラフィープロセッサ(elastography processor)など)によって処理することができる。
本明細書で説明されるシステム及び方法と共に使用することができる超音波イメージングシステムの一部の実施態様は、パルスの送信中に超音波信号の点源送信を使用することができる。点源(本明細書では「ピング」とも呼ばれる)から送信される超音波波面は、それぞれ円形又は球形の波面で目的の全領域に衝当する。1つの受信トランスデューサ素子によって受信される1つのピングからのエコーをビーム形成して、目的の超音波照射領域の完全な画像を形成することができる。広幅プローブ全体にわたる多数の受信トランスデューサからのデータと画像を組み合わせ、そして多数のピングからのデータを組み合わせることにより、非常に高い分解能の画像を得ることができる。
米国特許出願公開第2008/0103393号として公開された2007年10月1日出願の本出願者の以前の米国特許出願第11/865,501号、及び米国特許出願第13/029,907号(「'907特許出願」)に、多数開口を備えたプローブを使用して広い視野に亘って分解能を実質的に向上させる超音波イメージング技術の実施態様が記載されている。
図4Aは、設定されたmモード経路100が画像化される物体110を通る超音波画像の例を例示している。mモード経路に沿った各画素の振幅をグラフ(例えば、棒グラフ、線グラフ、又は任意の他の所望形式)に表示することができる。画素振幅値の変化は、経時的に例示することができる。図4Bは、図4Aのmモード経路100に沿って得られるデータのグラフの一例を例示している。
Claims (24)
- 超音波イメージングシステムでの表示のためにmモード経路を設定して表示する方法であって、
超音波信号を送信トランスデューサ素子から、目的の構造を含む目的の領域に送信するステップと、
少なくとも1つの受信トランスデューサ素子でエコーを受信するステップと、
該目的の領域の画像を該受信エコーから形成するステップと、
該目的の構造を含む該目的の領域の画像を使用者に表示するステップと、
該目的の構造を通る1画素広幅経路を設定するステップであって、該経路が、該送信トランスデューサ素子又は該受信トランスデューサ素子を横断するラインに沿って位置していない、該ステップと、
該経路に沿った画素の大きさの経時的なグラフを表示するステップと、を含む、前記方法。 - 前記経路が非線形である、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記経路が、少なくとも1つの湾曲セグメントを有する、請求項2記載の方法。
- 前記経路が、少なくとも1つの線形セグメント及び少なくとも1つの湾曲セグメントを有する、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記経路が、180度以外の角度で交差する少なくとも2つの線形セグメントを有する、請求項2記載の方法。
- 前記経路が、少なくとも2つの不連続セグメントを有する、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記送信トランスデューサ素子が、前記少なくとも1つの受信トランスデューサ素子を含むアレイとは別個の物理的トランスデューサアレイに位置する、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記送信トランスデューサが、非集束ピング超音波信号を前記目的の領域に送信するように構成されている、請求項7記載の方法。
- 前記目的の領域全体からのエコーを前記少なくとも1つの受信トランスデューサ素子で受信するステップ、該目的の領域全体からのエコーを第2の受信トランスデューサ素子で受信するステップ、及び該第1及び該第2のトランスデューサ素子で受信したエコーを組み合わせることによって該目的の領域の画像を形成するステップをさらに含む、請求項8記載の方法。

該第1の画像ウィンドウで見える特徴を横断するMモード経路を特定するステップと、
該Mモード経路を表すデータを、該第1の画像ウィンドウのBモード画像と共に共通のディスプレイに表示するステップと、
該第1の画像ウィンドウとは異なる該目的の領域の一部として第2の画像ウィンドウを設定するステップと、
該Mモード経路を表すデータを、該第2の画像ウィンドウのBモード画像と共に共通のディスプレイに表示するステップと、を含む、前記方法。 - 前記方法の全てのステップが、実際のリアルタイムイメージングセッション中に行われる、請求項12記載の方法。
- 前記Mモード経路が、少なくとも1つの非線形セグメントを含む、請求項12記載の方法。
- 前記Mモード経路が、前記プローブを横断するラインではない、請求項12記載の方法。
