This Evil Queen cel was made for the original 1937 Snow White film. The Courvoisier cel setup probably dates from circa 1938. Includes the Queen and spell book on cel, a hand-painted book stand on an overlay, and the hand-painted dungeon background. Originally put together and sold through the Disney Courvoisier Cel Setup Department. Queen measures 4.75" x 9.0"; background 11.0" x 10.5."

An original hand inked and painted Evil Queen cel from the Snow White motion picture. Trimmed and mounted on a hand-painted Courvoisier background. Wood frame with glass. Image area measures 7" x 7"; frame 24" x 24". Sold through the Disney Courvoisier program circa 1938. (Plaque is dated 1937 for the release of the film.)

These Courvoisier cel set-ups were among those sold this past July 1st at the 2014 Heritage Animation Art Signature Auction. They're all original hand-inked and hand-painted cels from the 1937 production of Snow White.

This Old Hag cel is combined with a separate cel featuring the rain effect, and both are placed against a hand-painted Courvoisier background. The Witch is 5" tall while the tree branch measures 8". Matted and framed to 16.5" x 16".  It sold for $5,825.63.

Snow White with Bluebird cel, hand-painted vines on the background. This scene was animated in part by the late Marc Davis. Cel measures 6" x 5", matted and framed to 16.5" x 18.5". Sold for $7,767.50.




Seven Dwarfs cel placed over an airbrushed wood veneer Courvoisier background. Image area of 5.5" x 7.5". Sold for $8,066.25.





Raccoons production cel over a hand-painted background. Raccoons are 2" high, image area of 5.5" x 5.5". Mat reads "Raccoons." Framed to an overall 13" x 14". Sold for $717.00.




Dance sequence includes Snow White, Dopey, Sneezy, Sleepy, Doc, and Bashful on an airbrushed Courvoisier wood veneer background. Image area 10" x 13", matted and framed to 27" x 25". The cream mat reads "Snow White and the Dwarfs.". Sold for $8,962.50.
