This 1964 Oldsmobile Starfire coupe was purchased new by the seller’s father and was refurbished in the early 2000s. Work included rebuilding the 394ci V8 and three-speed automatic transmission, refreshing the interior, overhauling the suspension and brakes, performing body repairs, and refinishing the car in blue. Additional equipment includes a dual exhaust system, vented fenders, quad headlights, a driver-side fender-mounted mirror, steel 14″ wheels, a VDO tachometer, woodgrain interior trim, a dash-mounted clock, and a push-button AM radio. This Starfire coupe is now offered with refurbishment records and a clean Nebraska title in the seller’s name.
The refurbishment included repairing the sheet metal, repainting the car in blue, replacing the weatherstripping and seals, and re-chroming the bumpers, grille, and trim. Exterior details include vented fenders, quad headlights, a driver-side fender-mounted mirror, bright lower-body cladding, and chrome bumpers. Corrosion is noted along the running boards.
Steel 14″ wheels with Oldsmobile-branded covers are mounted with Winston Winner G/T white-letter tires. The car is equipped with power steering and power-assisted drum brakes. The brakes and suspension were overhauled during the refurbishment.
A cabin refresh included reupholstering the seats in white vinyl as well as replacing the door panels and installing black carpets. Additional appointments include a dash-mounted clock, a push-button AM radio, woodgrain trim on the center tunnel, a locking glove compartment, and manual crank windows.
The two-spoke steering wheel fronts a horizontal-sweep 120-mph speedometer and a fuel level gauge. A VDO tachometer is mounted on the center tunnel ahead of the shifter. The five-digit odometer shows 36k miles, and total mileage is unknown.
The 394ci V8 was factory rated at 345 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque and was rebuilt in 2000. The engine is equipped with a Starfire-branded air cleaner cover, red cylinder heads and valve covers, and a dual exhaust system. The heater core was rebuilt as part of the refurbishment.
The three-speed automatic transmission was rebuilt as part of the refurbishment. Corrosion is present on underside components, and additional photos are provided in the gallery.
