He'd been out of work for three months by the time he finally ran out of interviews and casting calls and also rent money. So he sucked it up and got a job at his local Walmart, bagging groceries and flatscreen TVs for anyone and everyone who passed through checkout line three. This anyone and everyone notably included one middle-aged British dude who always came into the store right before closing time. Ethan took every shift he could get, meaning that he was usually one of the only cashiers left at 10:45 PM when the British guy checked out.
Technically, Ethan wasn't sure if the guy was middle-aged or British. He couldn't have been more than a decade younger than Ethan, though, and his accent was suspiciously English.
It wasn't his accent that piqued Ethan's interest and eventually sent him over the edge, though. It was what the man bought.
OR: Ethan is a failed actor, and Benji is the weirdo who keeps checking out at 11:45pm with shit like women's razors and adult diapers.
