The man blinks and tilts his head. He doesn't think he remembers that. He doesn't remember anything really. He remembers being with Uhtred. He remembers waking up with the younger man in his arms. They might have been preparing for a battle. It seems they always were. But which one or where it was what happened escapes him. He can't remember anything between waking up with Uhtred to opening his eyes on the boat. "What happened?"
The shadow man shakes his head and turns away again. He doesn't answer.
The man scoffs and shakes his head. "You'll tell me I'm in a coma and that Uhtred needs rescuing but you won't tell me how I died?"
The shadow man turns back to him, tilting his head. "Will that sway your decision?" He asks, his voice sounding genuinely curious.
The man pauses. "What decision?"
"Whether you will fight or let yourself die." The shadow man answers.
The man clenches his jaw and shakes his head. "No." He answers flatly. "It won't. I will always fight for Uhtred. He needs me and I will keep fighting. I will save him."

Logan drops the newspaper from obscuring his face. He immediately finds the source of the reply on the coffee table: a grey, cylindrical device that looks like a mini speaker, control buttons on its side. It blinks a turquoise light around the rim until the light turns off with a muted beep at the extended silence.
“What the fuck?” he wonders out loud, surprised to see such a familiar gadget.
“Have you not interacted with an Echo before, peanut?” Wade asks. “Did you not have Bezos’ army of listening devices where you’re from?”

He was sprawled on his back with one hand resting on his stomach and the other behind his head, and the dim lighting made him look so soft that Buck nearly did cry. Without a second thought, Buck stripped down to his boxers and gently laid himself on top of Tommy. He had a moment of guilt when he realized his was probably squishing his boyfriend, but then he was nestling his face into the crook of Tommy’s neck and a hand came to wrap around his back.
“Not that I’m complainin’,” Tommy mumbled as he slowly woke up, “but you could just ask a guy if you want to have sex.”
Buck shook his head without pulling it away from Tommy’s neck. As much as he loved having sex with his boyfriend (which was a lot, for the record), Buck just wanted Tommy’s comforting presence. He wanted his brain to be quiet.
