O eso creía el científico, hasta que una serie de sucesos le hace notar que dependía bastante del mentalista y que él no estaba correspondiendo como se debe, ese detalle, más ciertas polémicas en las que Gen debido a su fama se ve envuelto, hacen que su relación tienda de un fino hilo.
Tras el suceso de la petrificación Senku duda si puede salvar a Gen, lo ama muchísimo y sabe que nadie más en ese mundo de piedra le amará como Gen lo amó.
