Touching my stomach, I smiled softly. A human being, growing inside of me. I couldn't believe it. Looking up at her, she gave me a smile and leaned against her desk, her hands folded in front of her as she watched me. I was in shock and I sighed with a soft smile. We moved to a different room and began the process of doing the ultra sound. I had thankfully came prepared with drinking two things of water before hand which made things easier for my doctor. I looked at the screen, as she had me lift up my shirt. The gel she put on made me shiver slightly as she gave me an apologetic look. The moment she put the wand on my stomach, I felt my anxiety heighten. That's when I heard the heartbeat, and I laughed softly to myself. It was strange to see such a small human being on the black and white screen. She looked at me and smiled as I watched the screen carefully.

As pissed off at TK as Judd is at the moment, he can’t help but be worried about the way he’s carrying himself. There’s a stiffness to his shoulders that could easily be attributed to his own rage, but Judd has been a firefighter long enough to know when something is up. He would ask about it, but the one time he tried, he’d been met with a mutinous glare that suggested TK was more likely to bite his head off than to talk civilly.
So Judd resolves to keep an eye on the kid, much as it irritates him to do so. Except, from the moment he stepped into the firehouse, TK seems to have made it his personal mission to make Judd’s life as hard as possible, which is infuriating on days when they don’t have a close call.
Today, it’s almost the final straw Judd needs to go directly to Owen and tell him what a prick his son is. Judd’s not a snitch, but TK’s is a classic case of nepotism, and he refuses to watch any more members of his team die just because one dumb kid wants to play hero and knows he can get away with it.
But Judd refrains, because there’s still that voice in his head that sounds suspiciously like Grace telling him to give him another chance.

“C’mon TK. You can’t die. Not today. Not like this.” Judd whispered, voice cracking with emotion as he held steady pressure to the rapidly bleeding wound on TK’s forearm.
The two men were collapsed on the station’s bathroom floor, TK slumped over in Judd’s lap, head lolling against the larger man’s shoulder. Judd held TK’s wrist up above his head, ignoring the aching strain on his own arm muscles. His other arm wrapped around the younger man’s middle, and he absentmindedly rubbed soothing circles with his thumb on TK’s ribs. Blood saturated the towel that was pressed to his wrist, and Judd desperately wished he had more material available to help staunch the bleeding.
