Summary
When Chris left for Texas with his grandparents, Eddie took it about as well as Buck had expected.
Which was to say, not well at all.
So, Buck did the most rational thing he could think of: he moved in with Eddie. It was only temporary—he was only there to keep Eddie company while Chris was with his grandparents. However long that would end up being for.
It wasn’t anything Buck and Eddie hadn’t done before.Or:
Eddie doesn't take Chris's leaving well and Buck is there to help him pick up the pieces, because of course he is. -

Summary
“Buck?” Eddie calls again, softly. He toes off his shoes and trudges up the stairs to the loft and his heart aches at the sight in front of him.
Buck is tucked under the blanket, hoodie over his head, a pillow hugged to his chest and he’s staring off into space like he’s not even really here. His phone is sitting on the bedside table where Eddie can assume that it’s been dead all day.
Eddie tentatively sits by him, right on the edge and places a hand on his back, over the sheets. Buck’s head turns to face him and Eddie’s able to get a better look at the man. His eyes are puffed like he’s been… crying?
“Eddie.” Buck’s voice is so small. So unlike him. Eddie’s never heard him like this before. He’s heard him loud and passionate. He’s heard him angry. He’s heard him when he’s in physical pain. But he’s never heard him like this.
Like a child.

Summary
"Do you think that would ever work?"
Buck takes his eyes off the screen and looks at Eddie. "What?"
"That. With a friend."
Eddie means a meaningful relationship—love and sex, joy and laughter and happiness, and just everything Eddie has always tried to build with the wrong people—with the wrong gender. When he allows himself to think about it, Eddie likes to imagine it's what he and Buck could have together.
"Yeah, I dunno.” Buck shrugs and takes a swig of his beer. “A few bounces on it never hurt a friendship.” -

Summary
Excerpt:
"Bar fights on Christmas Eve. Why is this a thing?" Hen muttered.Eddie adjusted his gloves, surveying the scene. "Maybe Santa didn’t bring what they wanted."
Chimney chuckled. "Or someone sang ‘Last Christmas’ one too many times."
Buck stayed quiet, his mind already churning with a mix of irritation and exhaustion. As they approached, a police officer waved them over.
"This one’s yours... I think," the officer said, jerking his thumb toward someone sitting on the curb. Buck’s stomach sank as soon as he recognized the messy mop of dark hair.
"Tommy?" Buck’s voice came out in disbelief.
