Summary
Thryn grew up surrounded by nature in the forest where her grandmother taught her how to practice magic and told her her life would be like a fairy tale, how one day she would meet a handsome prince and live happily ever after. Her beloved grandmother died when she was only ten years old and Thryn had to go live with uncaring relatives. Ever since, everything about herself and her life has been wrong and out of place. She kept on practicing that magic to try to fix it, but the most it ever did was to make life tolerable, despite being told she possesses a lot of magical power.
Then she found Edwin’s system of magic and added that to her arsenal. Edwin hired her to work as his executive assistant at his business job, which at least provides enough money that she can survive. It’s a good thing he wanted to hire her, since nobody else likes having her around. Being in love with him doesn’t help matters, especially since he’s already found the love of his life. She's lost and everything in her life is wrong. She lacks the power and the skill to get herself anywhere she needs to be. Summary
I have read some incredible Punch-Out fanfics, and I have a soft spot for works that really hash out the backgrounds and backstories of the contenders. What makes these "minor" characters tick has always been fun to explore.
Today marks a painful anniversary for Glass Joe. As if the poor guy doesn't put up with enough. He finds solace and friendship from another WVBA boxer who knows exactly what he's going through- Von Kaiser himself.
I depict more of Von Kaiser's hidden soft side, as well as the tragic life that led Glass Joe to be the persevering boxer we all know and love.
I may have gotten a bit carried away? There's something enthralling about exploring the psyches of characters like Glass Joe and Von Kaiser, who clearly suffer from mental illnesses yet have to put on "manly" facades for their careers. They're fictional but unfortunately toxic masculinity is a very real problem.
Special thanks to everyone who has ever shared a Punch-Out fanfic, for all the amazing headcanons and relationships.

(It's so much easier to be a good person when you're not clinically depressed, afraid for your family, or stuck in your past trauma).
This is a lengthy story meandering through Harry's childhood, with eventual plans to see it through his Hogwarts years and a very different resolution to canon. But in the meantime, the goal is cuteness and exploring a world with better-adjusted adults in it.
