Summary

Wooyoung hates San, and San hates Wooyoung. The arranged relationship was only to appear real outside in the public eye, but behind closed doors in their shared lavish apartment, lie a brewing storm of resentment and hate. I’m debating giving in and ordering a second espresso when Shipman finally bursts through the door. Her hair is in messy French braids that look like they’ve been slept on. She tosses an order into the air, yelling a quick “Thanks, Javi!” as the surly teen behind the counter nods and turns to make it. Her Doc Martens are scuffed to hell and her sweater has stars on it. There’s a guitar case with endless pins and patches slung over her shoulder. Looking closely, I can make out a button that reads “Jackie Taylor for Captain - I’m Shauna’s Favorite!” and a patch for a pirate acapella group at her university. Shipman thuds into the seat across from me and launches into a barrage of excuses, ending in, “So actually, it isn’t my fault?” She smiles at me hopefully. Behind our backs, the sun streams in from the open windows. It feels like she’s arrived exactly when she should.
