Like he's ready for you to vanish on him too, so he gears up for it to happen.

In which Fiddleford goes to "Have a word" (He is so gonna erase Ford's memory) with Stanford some months after the portal incident but finds instead a barely alive Stanley Pines in the basement/portal room.
Together they will repair the portal and bring back Ford and who knows? Maybe some feelings aside from friendship will bloom between them.
