    Gently, Rauru returned his cup onto the table. Link’s bright blue eyes watching him curiously. Small ears up inquiringly and head tilted just slightly to the right.

    Smiling at the sight, the elder spoke.

    Link turned his head, trying to find the source of the voice.
    "You will grow strong, and have the power needed for your task." The voice continued.

    Yet strangely, sitting in front of the warm fire, a blanket wrapped around her shoulders, Mipha is alarmingly awake.

    Again.

     

    The Champions are traveling around Hyrule when Mipha begins to find sleep difficult. Unable to put her finger on the culprit, she is charmed when Link remains awake with her, joining her search for rest.

Link watched her actions closely, his eyes growing even wider, if that were possible, as he watched the magic at work. When the last evidence of the gash had faded, his gaze darted around, and he leaned his head closer to whisper:

    “Are you a fairy?”

    Mipha didn't know when things had changed for her. She didn't know how quickly it had happened.

    But she found herself eagerly waiting for every one of Link's visits and watching him leave until he was far out of sight, and something about the soft space he had always occupied in her life had very clearly, very substantially, shifted.

    At first, she could push the feeling aside. Delude herself into misreading it. She hadn't seen him in three years, give or take; of course she was excited to see him on a semi-regular basis again. He'd saved her little brother from the most dangerous beast she'd ever seen; was it not natural for her to pour out every ounce of gratitude she could for him?

    But it wasn't very long before she had to face the facts. Gratitude wouldn't leave her flustered and steal her words from her every time she met his gaze. It wouldn't leave her overwhelmingly aware of precisely where he was at all times whenever he visited the Domain. And it wouldn't leave her quietly mourning the loss of the bright smile she'd always used to associate with him, wondering if and when he'd ever look at her with more than the barest trace of it again.

    After Link frees each divine beast from the Blights, each Champion is freed. Instead of it being their lingering spirits, it’s them, very much alive. Whatever kept Zelda alive for all those years fighting Ganon, has done the same for the champions. Even if their bodies had been concealed by malice, that wonderful light of Hylia’s power had kept them alive. They help Link and Zelda fight Ganon, and when it’s all said and done, they live together. Oh yeah, and Mipha is like, big big.

    OR. The champions are alive after Link frees the Divine Beasts, the same way Zelda is after fighting Ganon. They all fight Ganon, meet the new champs, and save Zelda. Yay!     Throughout his entire journey, Link tried to ignore the Master Sword. If he could simply put off removing it from its pedestal, then he could delay his responsibilities to Hyrule. Unfortunately, Link could not stall forever. The Calamity grew stronger every day, and he had kept Zelda and the Champions waiting for far too long. However, with one final plea for help while pulling the Master Sword, Link awakens a spirit that has slept within the blade for eons.

    In a turn of events, Link discovers that the Master Sword is just the beginning of something greater. Perhaps, with the spirit's guidance, he can discover more about the legends that came before him. Maybe, he can use this knowledge to change the legend he is supposed to be another nameless hero in. Even when he begins to remember new memories, Link only has one mission: He will not settle for a legend that requires the people he cares about to die, no matter the cost.

    Years after the prophecy of Calamity Ganon’s return—given by the “Fortune Teller”—the country of Hyrule was on the cusp of chaos once again after almost 10,000 years. The young princess, a sixteen-year-old Princess Zelda, struggled to awaken her sealing power amidst tireless training and prayer. Sheikah relics, the Guardians and Divine Beasts, were unearthed and used to prepare for the fight ahead…

    …Six Champions and their commander were at the forefront of the fight—aided by the Lieutenant of the Royal Guard. A Hylian woman—the Captain of the Royal Guard—who had a passion for the sky was among the Champions. Even with all of this aid, destiny foretold Calamity Ganon’s victory…

    …Trying to divert the fate of the Champions and countless other innocent people, a lone Guardian traveled through time in order to change the outcome. These are the warriors present in the battle… a war in the Age of Calamity.

    Revali looked down at the blood-spattered ground, before sharply pulling his eyes away. The sight of what lay on the ground just a few feet away was just too much. He looked up at the sky. The clouds had parted, the moon no longer high in the sky, bloody and terrifying. Instead, the sun had taken its place, glaring down at them. It was far too bright. Far too cheerful for an occasion such as this. It was so peacefully sunny that it was an insult. Revali wanted to fly up there and scream at it until it ceased its horrid shining.

    Finally, he let his eyes drop down again, back to the thing he was afraid of seeing. Despite the fact he wanted this all to be a dream, he knew that ignoring it would make it worse. Still, seeing all that blood, blood of the one person who was supposed to survive this ordeal, was terrifying in a way he had never known. He let himself take it all in, knowing that not looking would be even worse.

    Link dies in the fight against the calamity, saving the other champions. Revali mourns for him, and has some unexpected revelations.
