Summary
Link in-game is often so impassive, so this follows the plot of Breath of the Wild quite faithfully-some of the dialogue is lifted directly from cutscenes and dialogue boxes-but with Link's guilt and grief and just anguish over having failed in his duty as he goes about attempting to fix what he sees as his mistake. Follow his journey to come to Zelda's aid and, eventually, try to rebuild Hyrule with her. (That's the part of the story that goes into the BOTW post-game. This should be completely TOTK compliant, though this story does not go into TOTK.
My Link is mute and uses sign language and everybody in my Hyrule just understands him. I am hearing, though I've taken ASL classes and have done a good amount of research; I hope everything is accurate, but if you are Deaf or HoH or mute and see something you don't like please let me know.
This is a re-upload and edited version of a story by the same name that I deleted recently.

Urbosa leaned in, her voice a hushed murmur, "My apologies, little voe. It seemed you were drifting into a deep slumber, through" her gaze shifting to the chalk-covered blackboard with an expression of mild perplexity as she tried to find the words, "...whatever this spectacle is."
Link narrowed his eyes, still nursing a mild ache from the electric shock that had coursed through his body. "I wasn't asleep," he countered, his words a somewhat unconvincing attempt to save face.
Urbosa's raised eyebrow remained in place, her expression now bordering on bemusement. She gave Link a look that unmistakably conveyed a sense of "seriously?"
Link, feeling the pressure of her scrutiny, hastily blurted out a white lie, his voice betraying his unease, "Honestly, Urbosa, I wasn't asleep. I was just, uh, awake with my eyes closed."
Urbosa's amusement was palpable as she continued to gaze at him, clearly unconvinced.

He's always been a bit nervous about them when the Zora people were mentioned.. though not as terrified as the others. It might've been because his sister perished around there actually, so.. he sets off on a mini quest to interview every (in reality, most of) the zora in the domain to prove them wrong!

But in this world not everything is as it seems or as they expect, And Wild and their companions are going to have to resurface some old scars and work together to figure out what is going on in this strange yet familiar land.
(Or the group visits a world where the calamities of yesterday never happened, and where Wild's friends and family were saved by a certain guardian and a little divine intervention.)

After defeating Ganon, the Champions realize that the peace will be short-lived. Calamity Ganon was a powerful foe, but the Champions discover what happens when the brute force of darkness is combined with the intellect of skilled opponents who can outsmart them.
Only now do Link and his friends realize that they must learn the true power of a Champion, and perhaps bond closer along the way.
