My third Linktober Quest story!Years have passed since the Calamitous Crisis and the subsequent Festival of Hyrule and the land was enjoying a prolonged period of peace...
Unfortunately, like too many times before, that peace was not to last. The Butcher of Realms and The Demon King return with new forces and new plans, ones that will drag Hyrule down to Hell itself.
This time... not even the combined might of The Hero, Princess, Mercenary, Swimmer and Saiyan will be enough to stop them...

A trap was laid before the danger was known, and a minor change to the timeline- a miniscule scar- left a Princess unable to access her divine birthright. As a result, her Champion had to step in at the last moment. Breath of the Wild with Zelda as the main character, her memories completely gone but forced to rise to the challenge of saving her Champion, and her Kingdom. Haremish.

Summary
Destiny brought them together; Link and Zelda were both certain of that. Tragedy and loss bring them together even closer. Her return makes him realize how desperately he needs her to stay. His kindness and patience helps her realize how broken she truly feels inside. Time passes, and love grows between them...but this anxiety and fear of losing one another never seems to fade.
This story will take place directly after Breath of the Wild, and carry on all the way to the conclusion of Tears of the Kingdom and beyond. I have deliberately avoided reading other TotK fanfics on here because I don't want anything other than the source material to influence my direction. Age of Calamity is not considered canon, so the events from that game are not canon to this story.
I know my tags are nuts. I have so much in store for you~ The original version of this was deleted and completely rewritten.
The love between Link and Zelda is the kind of love I always aspired to have in life. It's the love we all deserve.

Rhoam had called him a knight. Then he called him Your Highness. But what was Link a prince of? (Assuming he even was, assuming Rhoam wasn’t screwing with his head for Link’s disrespect). He wasn’t Prince of Hyrule, surely. Was he…not from Hyrule?
It all made his head ache.
“Zelda?” he asked aloud. “Was he serious?”
There was no answer. Just the wind.
Link grabbed the paraglider. He wouldn’t get any answers in these ruins. He needed to get off this plateau at last.
He’d follow the slate. He’d find Impa.
And then he’d find whoever gave him his locket.

100 years ago, the Great Calamity ravaged Hyrule. In the chaos, Princess Mipha and her husband, Prince Link, lost their lives.
Until Link rose from the Shrine of Resurrection that is.
Needless to say, the Zora aren't too happy about their amnesiac prince wandering the country alone. It looks like he'll need a guard...OR: Link and Mipha were married. He's joined by some over-protective friends on his quest to save Hyrule.
(Also known as Sidon, Bazz and Rivan being the best hype men and bodyguards ever. No, Sidon absolutely does not have Dorephan's permission to be here.)

The knight walked over to the golden haired girl wearily, his legs threatening to give in at any moment. “I’ve been keeping watch over you all this time…” the girl suddenly begins to speak, for the first time in a century. “I’ve witnessed your struggles to return to us, as well as your trials in battle.” Link is surprised by this, not having known that she could see him during his year and a half long journey. “I always thought… no. I always believed that you would find a way to defeat Ganon. I never lost faith in you over these many years.”
Thank you Link, the hero of Hyrule.” At the sound of his name being spoken on the lips of the one he had been fighting for all this time, Link begins to feel the fatigue from his battle just moments prior. His legs threaten to give in, and he uses any sliver of energy he has left in an attempt to not collapse in front of the princess. “May I ask… Do you really remember me?”

BCaU is an exploration in both worldbuilding and relationship-building. Mostly focused on Link and Zelda, and the development of their relationship over the course of the six years between disasters. A lot of small stories, just kind of a fun thing to work on based on my own headcanon.

Aside from his cryptic nature, Link feels like he's pretty trustworthy... but when those secrets affect his quest to save the kingdom he left in ruin, what is he to do?
Especially since Sheik had his breath, heart, and soul in the palm of his hand from the start.

Why do the Hero's Spirit endure as it does?
Who is Link, beneath his Hylian skin?Not many can remember why the Yiga was excommunicated and exiled from all of Hyrule, including their own clan, the Sheikah. Rumor that goes around was that the Royal Family of Hyrule was paranoid and feared the deadly potential of the Sheikah technology and thus banned it all, creating the Yiga Clan in the process. No one said otherwise and so it became the only truth. But is it really? If so, why did the Hero failed appearing in their hour of greatest need? Hyrule sought out the missing Hero and the equally missing Master Sword only to come up with nothing. All hope now lies on the shoulder of the still powerless Princess Zelda...until the Sheikah discovered the Shrine of Resurrection.
Who sleeps within? Who was resurrected? Who comes out of the shrine? Is it really the Hero...or something worse than the Calamity?
