Breakfast was filled with more stories about his journey - May and Jessie's rivalry over some pokemon was brought back; Serena told everyone how she moved in with May in Hoenn to try out the contest scene there; Meowth told an exaggerated version of how they met the Bewear that seemed to follow them everywhere. Ash's eyes lit up and he asked everyone if they knew the news, and suddenly James was just about leaping across the table to clamp his hands over Ash's mouth, but not before he could announce how Team Rocket had a food truck; Iris made fun of them with Dawn for twenty consecutive minutes before Kai took pity on them and mentioned how Ash flooded his house trying to use a washing machine. Ash made a big show of being betrayed, but he was laughing along with them, and tried to calm down Clemont and Max, who were shooting rapid-fire calculations at each other to find out how that was even possible, and Team Rocket and Misty took over Iris and Dawn's job poking fun at him while the duo laughed their heads off.
Breakfast ended up lasting three hours, warm and happy, and Kai understood why Misty had insisted on doing something special today

"He called Brock this morning to 'call code', so to speak." He took a deep breath in, and Burnet felt like she was drowning.
"I don't think that we're gonna be the last to show up," Lillie had said, softly.
