AZD-1940은 아스트라제네카가 개발한 약물로, 주변 선택성 카나비노이드 작용제로 CB1 수용체와 CB2 수용체 모두에 높은 친화력으로 결합된다. 신경성 통증의 치료를 위해 개발되었으나, 동물 연구에서는 말초 선택성이 좋은 반면,[1] 인간 임상 실험에서는 충분한 진통 효능을 보여주지 못하고, 중앙 칸나비노이드 활동과 관련된 예기치 않게 강한 부작용을 낳아 추가 발육이 중단되었다.[2][3]
