LEARNING EXPERIENCE 2
The Classroom for Learning

I. INTRODUCTION

Learning Experience 2 now brings you face to face with the actual world of learning
for the basic education of children. Here is where the learners are exposed to strategies that
can effectively nurture the developmental stage they are in. LE 2 then focuses on the
classroom structure and displays used by teachers. Observe how a teacher structures a
classroom in order to promote active learning for the development level of his/her students.

II. LEARNING OUTCOMES

Recommend an appropriate classroom structure and display for promoting

learning.

III. ACTIVITY

For BSED

Given the physical, social, emotional and cognitive/ intellectual characteristics of

upper grade learners, what activities will interest them to carry out inside or outside their
classroom?
My Ideal Classroom for Grade 7-Loyalty

As I have been given an opportunity to execute my field study observation at CTE

Laboratory School which pave the way for me to gain experiential learning, I get a chance
to see how important the classroom is in transferring knowledge to students. Meaning to
say, a learning environment played a pivotal role in meeting the learning needs of the
learners. Likewise, the teacher is also significant to attain quality education as they
facilitate learning. Understandably, they should have the qualities of an effective agent of
change who nurture the minds of young aspirants who aspire to inspire other people and
serve our nation in the future.
In addition, I have seen how capable the learners are in terms of their participation
in any activities provided to them. They just need a responsibility bearer that will unleash
their abilities so that they can freely express themselves without hesitation which may lead
them to success in the learning process. Furthermore, there are ample collaborative
activities that may cultivate students' potential like exposing them to debates that enhance
their cognition and critical thinking skills to communicate their minds on a specific issue or
topic. Likewise, role-playing may also serve as a guide for them to learn the sense of
camaraderie that is significant in achieving insight and learning. Understandably, these
activities are important to them as they cover the various characteristics that an individual
should possess --- the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional aspects. As a result, they
will be able to acquire skills and aptitudes that they can employ in a real-life scenarios.
Subsequently, as a future educator, I will also assign the students to have their presentations
in class as it will matter in the teaching-learning process by means of improving social
interaction and also increasing their confidence in public speaking which might as well
assist them to integrate technology in education.
Having said those activities, students are expected to improve their academic
performance in view of the fact that the activities I provided will urge them to keep the fire
and drive with themselves which are crucial especially as they stepped on the real
battlefield of life. Unarguably, these activities will make them prepared and well-equipped
that also promote inclusivity, and condone the isolation and segregation of every student.

IV. GROWTH PORTFOLIO ENTRY NO. 2 –A

Sketch the interior of your dream classroom that will show the pieces of furniture, various
displays, and teaching aids. Consider a floor plan that will allow for collaborative work and other
group activities.
MY IDEAL CLASSROOM FOR GRADE 7
GROWTH PORTFOLIO ENTRY NO. 2 – B

Write a narrative of your idea of a classroom for a grade level of your choice. Given the
characteristics of your learners, describe what the classroom should have and what activities you
can make them do inside this classroom.
My Idea of a Classroom for Grade 7

The field study observation helped me to comprehend the situation of the facilities at
the CTE Laboratory School. In line with this, students are still coping as we finally go back to
normal. Moreover, as I examine the learning environment that I am currently in, I could say
that it is still good to learn. However, some things should be improved and developed so that
we can ensure that the classroom will be conducive to learning by the students. Knowing the
fact that they are diverse and so their ability to comprehend may vary which is why a
conducive learning environment should exist so that they will feel comfortable and motivated
to learn a certain lesson with the assistance and help of the teacher as the facilitator of
learning.

For me, an ideal classroom should have conducive learning areas that will enable
learners to go beyond learning. There should have a complete set of equipment, teaching aids,
and technologies in order to provide a quality education for everyone. With this being said,
here are the things I need to have in my ideal classroom :
(1)airconditioner, (2)projector, (3)screen projector, (4)whiteboard, (5)teacher's table,
(6)students seats, (7)emergency light, (8)Fire Extinguisher, (9)comfort room, (10)first aid
kit, (11)bookshelves, (12)glass door, (13)ceiling lamps, (14)Television, (15)other teaching
aids.
As you can notice, I did not only focus on the development of my students but also
emphasized the safety and convenience of my students because if they will not be comfortable
in the classroom then it is not conducive to the teaching and learning process. As a result, they
will not be motivated to participate in the class because they don't have the assurance of a safe
place for everyone. This is why my ideal classroom shouldn't only focus on your desired
facilities but the top of that is its appropriateness for students. Indeed, my ideal classroom for
my Grade 7 students should maintain a pleasant space full of chances for both students and
teachers. This will ensure the active engagement and involvement of the students in the
discussion proper inside the classroom. I will exert effort to make sure that my students are
safe and supported so that it will impact their attitudes to learn willingly and attentively. Also,
this ideal classroom is made to promote inclusivity and teamwork which welcome new
opportunities to learn but at the same time they were able to enjoy their teenage life.

V. ASSESSMENT

practices.

81-90 Reflection is well-supported by observations of application of

related development theories to learning

71-80 Reflection shows minimal application of the observations made and

the theories previously learned to learning.

61-70 Reflection is hampered by minimal understanding of the concept of growth

and development as applied in structuring the learning environment.
