El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo realizar un analisis comparativo entre Mexico y seis paises: Estados Unidos, Alemania, Corea del Sur, China, Brasil y Argentina; en relacion con sus economias del conocimiento. La economia del conocimiento esta dividida en cuatro pilares fundamentales:1) incentivos economicos y regimenes institucionales, 2) educacion y recursos humanos, 3) sistemas de innovacion y 4) infraestructura de la informacion y de las comunicaciones. Los cuatro pilares comprenden 16 variables, mas dos que hacen referencia al desempeno:1) La tasa promedio anual de crecimiento del PIB y 2) el Indice de desarrollo humano. The digital economy is one of the accelerating drivers for economic growth today. In this regard, the article discusses the concept of «Digital economy», the importance of accounting and its role in the digital economy; the need for further development of theoretical and methodological provisions of accounting, state projects that have been successfully implemented in the framework of the «Digital Kazakhstan» program regarding accounting; and the transformation of accounting activities in the digitalization of the economy. Este artículo analiza cómo las reformas educativas en diversos países están respondiendo a las demandas de la economía del conocimiento al integrar competencias digitales, tecnológicas y creativas en los currículos. El estudio destaca las tendencias globales en la educación, centradas en la incorporación de habilidades clave que preparan a los estudiantes para participar en una economía basada en la innovación y el conocimiento. A través de casos de estudio de países como Finlandia, Singapur y Corea del Sur, se ilustra cómo las reformas han sido implementadas con éxito para mejorar la empleabilidad de los estudiantes y su adaptación a un entorno laboral en constante cambio.
El artículo también examina los desafíos que enfrenta la implementación de estas reformas, como la falta de infraestructura tecnológica y la capacitación docente. Finalmente, se aborda el impacto social y económico de las reformas, subrayando su contribución a la equidad educativa y su papel en la competitividad económica global. Se presentan recomendaciones para seguir avanzando en la modernización de los sistemas educativos, a fin de preparar mejor a las nuevas generaciones para los retos futuros.

Abstract
This article analyzes how educational reforms in various countries are responding to the demands of the knowledge economy by integrating digital, technological, and creative competencies into curricula. The study highlights global trends in education, focusing on the incorporation of key skills that prepare students to participate in an economy driven by innovation and knowledge. Through case studies from countries like Finland, Singapore, and South Korea, the article illustrates how reforms have been successfully implemented to improve student employability and their adaptation to a constantly changing labor market.
The article also examines the challenges faced in implementing these reforms, such as the lack of technological infrastructure and teacher training. Finally, it addresses the social and economic impact of these reforms, emphasizing their contribution to educational equity and their role in global economic competitiveness. Recommendations are provided for further advancing the modernization of education systems to better prepare future generations for upcoming challenges.

RESUMEN La principal reflexión de este ensayo está relacionada a la importancia de la reflexión ética y política sobre el "deber de la memoria" que ha de plantearse la afirmación contenida en un "deber del olvido" como lo afirma Pazos (Pazos, 2004). It is a general understanding that the advanced economies are currently undergoing a fundamental transformation into knowledge-based societies. There is a firm belief that this is based on the development of high-tech industries. Correspondingly, in this scenario low-tech sectors appear to be less important. A critique of this widely held belief is the starting point of this book. It is often overlooked that many of the current innovation activities are linked to developments inside the realm of low-tech. Thus the general objective of the book is to contribute to a discussion concerning the relevance of low-tech industries for industrial innovativeness in the emerging knowledge economy.

This paper investigated the effect of information and communication technology (ICT) and International Monetary Fund credit on economic growth of selected East Africa Community (EAC) countries using data for the period 1990-2022. Panel data was used with the fixed and random effects models. Through the Hausman`s test results, the fixed effects model was preferred. The ICT indicators which significantly determined economic growth of the EAC countries were internet use and mobile cellular subscriptions. Internet use was found to boost economic growth while mobile cellular subscriptions significantly reduced economic growth of the EAC selected countries. The control variables that significantly boost economic growth of the sample countries include female male labour ratio, government consumption expenditure, financial development, capital expenditure and foreign direct investment. Testing of nonlinear relationship between ICT and economic growth, revealed that there exists non-linear (inverted U-shaped) effect of ICT on economic progress of the sample countries. Further, the results from this study provide evidence that there is a strong positive relationship between International Monetary Fund (IMF) credit and economic growth of the EAC countries. Similarly, there exists non-linear (upward U-shaped relationship) impact of IMF credit on economic growth of the selected EAC countries. The results of this paper are important for policy making in the EAC countries. The policy makers need to design policies that are friendly to ICT investment especially on internet connections. The governments of the sample countries needs to improve and enhance internet connections to all sectors and individuals as these will contribute positively to economic growth. IMF credit was also found to significantly boost economic growth of the EAC selected countries. The policy implication for this result is that with good management and appropriate policies, EAC member countries continue increasing the use of IMF credit as this will accelerate their respective economic growths.

Higher education (HE) has not efficiently targeted a knowledge-shaped economy and has not kept up with the knowledge and IT skills demanded to resolve the problems from social- and work- exclusion. While recently unemployed knowledge workers are searching for new jobs, re-educating policies and career development options have not kept pace with work changes. There is an urgent need for a HE reform in order to address the current socio-economic and work-life crises. For this reform, the authors compare and contrast three promising learning approaches: problem-based learning PBL, work-based learning WBL and problem-focused education PFE. While in PBL and WBL work- and problem-related knowledge is transferred sufficiently, PFE seems to outperform. The paper points to an effective re-organisation of HE by (1) investing in PFE as the means to achieve quality in the learning process and its outcomes and (2) identifying ICT quality features for supporting the PFE learning process.

Since its independence, Croatia has not been successful in establishing a comprehensive and systematic economic policy. Individual policies, that have been pursued, have generally been neither well-conceived nor well-prepared. Those in power used to spend most of their time and effort in trying to persuade the people in the success of their policies even when it was obvious that they would not prove to be successful. Often, due to ignorance and inability to create the necessary policies, steps were taken to show that something is being done, though they probably did not believe in the appropriateness of these moves themselves. In the absence of complete and systematic policies, they tried to pursue with partial policies by believing in their peculiar abilities. The growing Internet of Things (IoTs) and Technology Web 2.0 create a new business landscape. Furthermore, the recent growth in Information Communication Technology (ICT) has triggered SMEs to venture into crowdsourcing practices. Thus, the study attempts to explore the crowdsourcing practices among selected Malaysian SME’s. The study employed qualitative method by conducting interview session among SMEs business owners in order to validate the benefits of crowdsourcing that has been practiced by the SMEs in their organizations. This paper reports on a case study on community formation and attitudes to sustainability in three Canberra suburbs, building on literature that see a strong sense of community as a necessarily element of making cities more sustainable. The paper compares attitudes in Greenfield sites to those in urban infill developments, Brownfield sites. The Greenfield study site is further sub-divided into low and higher-density developments. Through a range of interviewees and focus groups across a diversity of socio-economic backgrounds, actual attitudes to community and to sustainability are elicited. The study uses a twin comparative method, first comparing and contrasting the lowand medium-density Greenfield sites, and then comparing and contrasting the Greenfield sites with the Brownfield site, with a particular focus on how urban infill developments are perceived as affecting pre-existing community networks. The report focuses on innovative teaching approaches and their impact on student outcomes.
Our teaching approach emphasises active student participation and includes diverse assessment methods tailored to four personality types: analytical thinker, creative innovator, social collaborator, and independent learner. This method also requires students to stay informed about global entrepreneurship trends, preparing them as effective 21st-century professionals. The primary outcome of this innovation is student success and throughput, focusing on producing graduates who are both employable and capable of creating their own job opportunities. This approach is vital for fostering adaptability and job creation skills.

The concept of attractiveness refers to how a place is perceived and what types of assets it has to offer to (different types of) residents and visitors. The growing importance of these issues has coincided with an increasing emphasis on spatial issues, in particular concerning European development policy. Over the last two decades, an emerging message in the EU policy debate has been that territory matters (ESPON, 2006b). Yet the extent to which this has actually been absorbed into and structured sectorial policies is debatable.

In this article, we analyse the geopolitics of higher education, which we understand as an assemblage through which the functioning of the ‘borderless’ and ‘deterritorializing’ dynamics of the global knowledge economy are respatialized. Discourses, objects and bodies constitute a geopolitical assemblage. We scrutinize in particular the geopolitical discourse of the knowledge economy, the construction of material and immaterial learning environments as one of its governmental technologies as well as the subjectification of individuals as specific kinds of professional citizens. We concretize this with an enquiry into the set of recent university reforms in Finland and the ways in which these contribute to the formation of transnational citizenship.

In this article, we apply the idea of narrative to strategy and to the development of strategy in the higher education context. We explore how strategy is formed as an intertextual narrative in a comparative study of higher education in the UK. Existing research suggests that competition between narratives, such as that in higher education, should be problematic in strategy terms. We show that this is not necessarily the case. Unlike in other settings where new strategy narratives tend to drive out previous narratives, in higher education it is the on-going interaction between historical and new narratives that gives the content of strategy its essential voice. We show how apparently competing narratives are accommodated though appeals to emotion and values. The maintenance of strategic direction requires hope and a synthesis of societal values that maintains access to the past, the future, and multiple narrators. The green economy is one of the most controversial topic for the economy of the 21st. century, as world has changed its development direction from unfair development that ignores environmental and social dimensions to green development that takes into account the environmental dimension, reduces the carbon dioxide emissions, and protects our planet from the negative effect of the rise of global temperature, through the mitigation and adaptation with the climate change.
The study aims at creating a new index of green finance availability in Egypt. This index has been constructed using factor analysis, according to each of 1) legal framework, 2) number of procedures, 3) time taken for financing, 4) cost, and 5) encouraging incentives.
Results indicate that the proposed index of green finance availability seems to be affected positively by each of “investment attraction” and “required procedures to encourage green invest” and negatively by “obstacles facing green investments”, without any evidence regarding the effect of “access to green finance”.
