El analisis de la empresarialidad rural en terminos de cultura empresarial, procesos de innovacion y redes empresariales adquiere especial relevancia en la medida en que refleja la capacidad de las empresas para relacionarse, para transmitir innovaciones con mayor rapidez y para mantener vinculos tanto de mercado como de transmision de informacion, un conjunto de variables que adquiere especial protagonismo en el marco de la dimension territorial del desarrollo. Estas primeras conclusiones que aqui presentamos son el resultado de la aplicacion de tecnicas cualitativas de investigacion y trabajo de campo, complementadas por la informacion estadistica existente, al analisis de la cultura empresarial, los procesos de innovacion y el papel de las redes empresariales en la Manchuela Conquense.

The widespread proliferation of wireless networks (WLAN) has opened up new paradigms of security policy management in enterprise networks. To enforce the organizational security policies in wireless local area networks (WLANs), it is required to protect the network resources from unauthorized access. In WLAN security policy management, the standard IP based access control mechanisms are not sufficient to meet the organizational requirements due to its dynamic topology characteristics. In such dynamic network environments, the role-based access control (RBAC) mechanisms can be deployed to strengthen the security perimeter over the network resources. Further, there is a need to incorporate time and location dependent constraints in the access control models. In this paper, we propose a WLAN security management system which supports a spatio-temporal RBAC (STRBAC) model. The system stems from logical partitioning of the WLAN topology into various security policy zones. It includes a Global Policy Server (GPS) that formalizes the organizational access policies and determines the high level policy configurations for different policy zones; a Central Authentication & Role Server (CARS) which authenticates the users (or nodes) and the access points (AP) in various zones and also assigns appropriate roles to the users. Each policy zone consists of an Wireless Policy Zone Controller (WPZCon) that co-ordinates with a dedicated Local Role Server (LRS) to extract the low level access configurations corresponding to the zone access points. We also propose a formal spatio-temporal RBAC (STRBAC) model to represent the security policies formally.

This paper has the purpose to comment the competitive advantages of networks of small companies. The question is what functions should be made in the enterprises and what functions should be made by the "consorzio"?.

Social Networking Services (SNS) are the fastest growing type of social software – both in the Internet and in company-wide Intranets. Due to the fact that SNS have emerged just recently and the development speed of the services is enormous, there exist large gaps in research about this type of service. For example, so far there has been no attempt to identify and categorize the basic functionalities of SNS. This is the goal of this contribution. Six groups of functionalities for SNS are proposed and their categorization is motivated. The identification of a distinct set of SNS functions will facilitate the modularization and integration of different social network applications.

In order to respond to global competition challenges, the wood processing industry is outsourcing the planning of roundwood harvesting. This means that the industry seeks to negotiate with fewer, larger and more diverse harvesting enterprises, which may have smaller subcontractors. This kind of networking development has already occurred in other industries, e.g., shipyards and the electronics industry. Poor profitability, the liquidity and solvency of the harvesting business and the consequent difficulty in hiring qualified operators make networking a complicated process. Moreover, the asymmetry of negotiation powers between industrial customers and harvesting entrepreneurs perpetuates the low profitability. Malware is a continuously evolving problem for enterprise networks and home computers. Even security aware users using updated security solutions fall into trap of zero day attacks. Moreover, blacklisting based solutions suffer from problems of false positives and false negatives. From here, idea of Application whitelisting was coined among security vendors and various solutions were evolved with same underlying technology idea. An increasing number of organizations have installed enterprise social media (ESM) platforms to allow employees to collaborate, work independently, and to innovate more easily. While research has started to explain how such technologies can lead to improved collaboration and productivity, their role in assisting employees in innovation processes remains unclear. In our research-in-progress we examine the case of a global retail organization that adopted ESM for all employees with the view to foster employee-driven innovation. We report on our on-going data collection and analysis, in which we focus on the salient mechanisms and contingency factors why ESM under some conditions facilitates employee-driven innovation and why under some conditions it does not. We report on on-going data collection, data analysis strategies and emergent findings, and conclude with a brief outlook on our future research strategies.

The satisfactory electronic delivery of multimedia material not only requires a particular quality of service (QoS) level to be maintained to fulfil users' expectations; there is in addition another goal: maximizing the revenue earned for the network owner. In this paper, we designed an admission controller (AC) along with the necessary algorithms to allow an enterprise network (EN) to satisfy both of these goals. We consider the selection of both a server from several alternatives, and the selection of a delivery route, plus the reservation of resources both in the selected server and on the delivery route to achieve the two goals of guaranteed absolute QoS and revenue optimization. We simulated the AC; simulation results are provided together with explanations.

An undergraduate internetwork, security-teaching laboratory, which includes both defensive and offensive security laboratory experimentation, is described. This laboratory is oriented toward an introductory internetworking security class and is intended to complement more theoretical network security classes while sparking student interest. The laboratory is unique in that it uses an isolated laboratory network that provides a simple model of the Internet, including an enterprise network component, a university component, a "good" Internet service provider, and a "bad" Internet service provider. This setup is in contrast to typical educational laboratories, which use only a few physical computers with virtual machines. In literature, a large number of studies on the Italian districts exhibit a portrait which points out the Italian economic specificity. A specific feature of the Italian districts is the large number of collaborative actions carried on by the associated enterprises which are not limited to the solution of the usual supply chain management problems. As not all the collaborative actions bring immediate (and measurable) economic benefits, there is the need for a reliable and unbiased method aimed at the identification and analysis of the collaborative patterns inside an industry network, to determine their presence and effectiveness. The proposed method uses a graph representation of the inter-firm relationships inside a network and induces the presence of collaborative behaviours by the analysis of the graph topology.
