Csökkentsük őket – mégpedig radikálisan! Az emberiség és a földi élőlények pusztulásának – nem szükségszerű, azaz elkerülhető szenvedésének – mérséklése érdekében következetes egyenlősítésre van szükség. Ferge Zsuzsa emlékének azzal állíthatunk méltó emléket, ha az ő szellemében gondoljuk tovább gondolatait.

E tanulmány három kérdésre keresi a választ: (1) volt-e Pierre Bourdieu-nek modernitáselmélete? (2) Hogyan vélekedett a tradicionális és modern, illetve a modern és posztmodern (vagy későmodern) társadalmak különbségeiről? (3) Mi magyarázhatja, hogy elvetette a modernitás elméletét? A tanulmány e kérdésekre választ keresve három állítást fogalmaz meg. Az első: Pierre Bourdieu számára a modernitás nem kitüntetett jelentőségű korszak, lényegében nincsen sem modernitáselmélete, sem modernizációelmélete. A második: ezt nem munkássága hibájaként vagy hiány(osság)aként, hanem éppen ellenkezőleg, az erényeként érdemes értékelnünk. A harmadik: Pierre Bourdieu e döntése mögött a gyarmati alávetés elutasítása és a modernitás koncepciójával szembeni posztkoloniális kritikáéval rokon bírálat húzódhat meg.

Science and race is a broad topic. In one sense, almost all of the nineteenth century scientific texts and disciplines can be associated with the construction of race as a scientific, rational, and explanatory concept, one that survived the transformations that accompanied the establishment of the disciplines that we are familiar with today because the legitimacy of scientific inquiry in the nineteenth century rested upon explaining the meaning of race and variation. This collection will trace the transatlantic networks of scientific associations, writers, observers, naturalists, illustrators and artists, publishers and booksellers, collections and those that collected the specimen for them, as well as the discourses on race in the nineteenth century. In doing so, these volumes will of necessity highlight the centrality of slavery, colonialism, abolition, racialism and competing conceptions of race in nineteenth century scientific works and how notions of race survived the demise of Natural History only to be incorporated into, and transformed by, the institutionalization of what might be referred to as the "sciences of life". These new sciences (Sociology, Biology, Ecology, but also catastrophism, Criminal Anthropology, Eugenics, etc.), like those before them, relied upon the study of race and racialism for much of their legitimacy as sciences. Instead of dying a silent and unobserved death, the racialism that drove polygenic theories in Natural History was easily taken up by those that found or invented new justifications in emerging works interpreting Darwin and promoting and critiquing Darwinian evolution....

O objetivo do presente relato de experiência é apresentar os modelos de ensino utilizados pelo Projeto de Extensão Ciência Política nas Escolas, da Escola de Ciência Política, da Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO). Ao longo do projeto, elaboramos um material didático próprio que aborda os principais temas da Ciência Política e, também, desenvolvemos alguns modelos de aplicação, apoiados na “Pedagogia do Oprimido” de Paulo Freire (1987). Com a pandemia do coronavírus, tivemos que adaptar o método de ensino empregado, sendo necessária a transição para o ambiente virtual e, consequentemente, a formulação de novas atividades. Este trabalho utilizou como metodologia as observações das atividades do projeto e do método de ensino empregado, baseando-se também nos relatos dos bolsistas, dos secundaristas e dos professores dos colégios que visitamos. A receptividade nas escolas visitadas, tanto na modalidade presencial como na remota, foi extremamente satisfatória e o nosso compromisso com uma educação transformadora seguiu como a base para o método educacional que desenvolvemos.

This article represents the brief history of evolution of social theories and sociological surveys in Armenia. The process of the emergence of social and sociological thoughts in Armenia considered from the early Middle Ages to the beginning of the 20th century. Since the ancient period Armenian philosophers in their works addressed the problems of man and his environment, social relations and the role of the state. In scholarly publication it is customary to draw a distinction between sociological ideas, conceptual frameworks and theories, on the one hand, and applied social studies, on the other hand.

Humans have let their creative juices flow since early times; the invention of fire, proto-writing, pottery,
arts and crafts, agriculture and metal-making would bear ample testimony to this. Among early
contributions to science and technology, the contributions made by early Mesopotamians are highly
impressive. They made stellar contributions to metal-working, glass and lamp making, architecture, the
production of textiles and weaving, flood control, water storage and irrigation. They also invented the
earliest form of true writing, namely Cuneiform in the middle of the fourth millennium before Christ.
Writing was usually mastered by scribes who were small in number in relation to the total population,
and was composed on clay tablets. The Epic of Gilgamesh is among the world’s earliest literature, and is
attributed to ancient Mesopotamia. Libraries are also believed to have existed in Ancient Mesopotamia.
Mesopotamians made stellar contributions to mathematics, map making, medicine and astronomy too,
though true intellectualism in the modern sense of the term probably did not exist then.

RESUMO: Esta pesquisa aborda as mudanças propostas pelo sistema educacional brasileiro para o Ensino Médio, cujos debates iniciaram na década de 1990 e ainda estão sendo discutidas neste primeiro semestre de 2017. Há um elemento recorrente que se coloca na contemporaneidade e que ocorre quer se queira, quer não se queira. Esse elemento diz respeito à noção, como construção subjetiva, e à utilização, como necessidade prática, da possibilidade de ascensão social pela escolaridade. Ao menos nas sociedades ocidentais, essa condição anima os segmentos médios já há muito tempo. Na segunda metade do século XX, esse anseio passou a animar intensamente também os brasileiros. Este trabalho tem como foco os estudos sobre o currículo e o conhecimento. Propomos apresentar a contribuição de Michael Young, importante sociólogo britânico, para os estudos curriculares e realizar a exposição de alguns elementos de sua teoria, o realismo social.  Em nossa pesquisa, levantamos que os estudos de Young trazem importantes contribuições para pensarmos o currículo, e o contexto escolar, enquanto lugar de acesso ao conhecimento científico, complementando, deste modo, as ideias que  autores da pedagogia histórico-crítica tem defendido no Brasil. Nesta direção o artigo está assim organizado: no primeiro item expomos as primeiras ideias e concepção sobre conhecimento e currículo, de Michael Young,  na década de 1970. We examine the call for decolonising academic disciplines, and the extent which this applies to engineering. We argue that anticolonial endeavours should systematically recognise colonial legacy in contemporary science and technology, and reframe technological innovation in light of neocolonial extraction and exploitation.

This paper, which is perhaps our umpteenth and umptieth on scientific method and scientific methodology, proposes, discusses and lays bare the canon of what we propose to call "irreducible simplicity". We believe and hypothesize that this approach would encompass, and play a natural, pivotal and a vital role in all aspects and facets of scientific activity from the cradle to the grave such as grounds-up hypothesis conceptualization, hypothesis building, detailed hypothesis specification, hypothesis testing and refinement, and structured and effective science communication to the masses, including people from different cultures and different parts of the world. We also review the various and varied steps in common scientific method and methodology, and also review various canons such as the canon of simplicity, the canon of economy, the canon of parsimony, the canon of efficiency, and the canon of efficacy. We also compare and contrast this concept with the concept of "irreducible complexity"; the latter is widely held to be a pseudo-scientific concept, and does not fall within the parameter and radar of bona fide, beneficial and healthy science. We also explain and discuss why this approach would invariably and inevitably catapult and propel science to a higher trajectory, amplify and magnify science communication to the masses, with ample just rewards for the common man, and for science and scientific activity in general.

O impacto que a inclusão da sociologia nos currículos do ensino médio causou no âmbito da escola e no campo das ciências sociais tem sido avaliado sob diferentes perspectivas: a) para uma, há perigo de que a sociologia não seja ensinada como ciência, mas como discurso ideológico; b) para outra, o ensino de Sociologia deve ser conscientizador e transformador da sociedade; c) uma terceira enfatiza seu caráter de alfabetização científica, ao equipar estudantes com teorias e métodos, levando-os à consciência de si mesmos e do mundo em que vivem. Pensando a escola média como espaço público, a escolha por uma das vertentes vai além das convicções pessoais do professor, sendo norteada por sua responsabilidade como formador de cidadãos autônomos.

In this article we intend to analyze the meanings taken by sociology in the Brazilian school curriculum in three periods, in the 1930s until its departure in 1942, its return to the curriculum in 2008 and its current presence in the school. We will analyze these periods from the Brazilian socio-political conjunctures of each period. Our objective is to analyze and compare the reasons why the subject enters and leaves the curriculum and the threats that surround its consolidation in the school curriculum. Our hypothesis is that for analyzing the presence of the discipline it is conditioned to factors related to the dynamics of interpretation of the scientific field on the usefulness of the discipline.

Este artigo busca desenvolver a reflexão da produção acadêmica sobre a área de Educação Geográfica no Brasil. O texto apresenta questionamentos sobre esse campo de pesquisa, com intuito de provocar debates para futuras discussões entre os pesquisadores da Geografia e seu ensino. Para essa reflexão, organizo o texto em duas partes: na primeira, revisito as minhas pesquisas sobre o ensino, levantando alguns aspectos para reflexão posterior, partindo da Tese de Doutorado, intitulada: “Trajetória da pesquisa acadêmica sobre o ensino de Geografia no Brasil – 1972-2000”, defendida em 2003, até o mais recente trabalho, realizado em 2017, intitulado: “Dez anos de Pesquisa Acadêmica em Educação Geográfica no Programa de Pós-graduação da Universidade Federal da Paraíba – 2007-2017”. Na segunda parte, dedico-me aos questionamentos sobre os avanços dessa área de pesquisa, fazendo-os por meio de provocações para pensar o ensino, suas relações no interior da Geografia ...

La question de savoir si l'épistémologie est encore possible, et quelle voie elle doit emprunter, est à l'ordre du jour. En effet, suite à l'échec du modèle standard proposé par l'empirisme logique, nous nous retrouvons pour ainsi dire a la croisée des chemins. C'est ainsi que, par exemple, nous prenons progressivement conscience des enjeux opposant les partisans de la « LSE Position » aussi bien aux empiristes qu'à ceux qui favorisent plutôt une sorte de « virage sociologiste », ou encore que nous nous trouvons confrontés à l'inadéquation des deux principales façons d'envisager la testabilité des théories scientifiques, à savoir la conception hypothético-déductive d'un côté et la conception bayésienne de l'autre (Glymour).

A Telegónia Elméletének Újraértelmezése:
A cikk részletesen tárgyalja a telegónia elméletét, amely szerint egy nő korábbi szexuális partnerei genetikailag befolyásolhatják a későbbi gyermekeit. A szerzők a modern genetikai kutatások fényében újraértelmezik ezt az elméletet, felvetve az epigenetikai mechanizmusok lehetséges szerepét.

Esettanulmányok és Genetikai Analízis:
Ebben a szakaszban bemutatnak egy konkrét esettanulmányt: Két egykori partner, akik már új kapcsolatokban élnek, külön-külön gyermekeket hoznak a világra. A kutatás felfedi, hogy az újszülöttek között genetikai hasonlóságok vannak, ami arra utal, hogy az egykori partnerek genetikai anyaga valamilyen módon továbböröklődött. A cikk részletezi a genetikai analízisek módszereit, amelyeket használtak ennek a meglepő összefüggésnek a feltárására.

Társadalmi és Etikai Következmények:
A társadalmi és etikai következmények részében a szerzők kiterjesztik a vitát a családi öröklődési mintákra és az apaság kérdésére. Elemzik, hogy ez a felfedezés hogyan változtathatja meg az emberek szemléletét a genetikai kapcsolatok és a szülői felelősség terén.

Következtetések:
A következtetések szekcióban kiemelik, hogy a genetikai távkavarodás valós jelenség, amely új megvilágításba helyezi a telegónia elméletét. Hangsúlyozzák az ilyen jelenségek további kutatásának fontosságát, különösen az epigenetikai mechanizmusok terén.

Összegzés:
A "Genetikai távkavarodás: Az Elrejtett Összefüggések Felfedezése", melyet Zoltán Juhász és Ágnes Szabó is alátámaszt, mélyreható betekintést nyújt a genetikai távkavarodás jelenségébe, a telegónia elmélet újraértelmezésével együtt, felhívva a figyelmet a genetika és az öröklődés bonyolult és gyakran meglepő kapcsolatára.

This contribution, which is part of the collaborative European research project INTERCO-SSH, presents indicators for studying the internationalization of the social and human sciences. Five dimensions are distinguished and for each one of them various indicators are presented. Although neither the dimensions nor the indicators are exhaustive, they capture some of the most significant aspects of internationalization. They pertain to international scholarly associations, international scholarly journals, the flows and meanings of book translations, transnational authorship, and policies of internationalization. In addition to these dimensions, three particular areas of inquiry are presented: changing relations between the North and the South, between Western and Eastern Europe, and between the West and Asia.
