Big Baccarat Table Layout
Most land-based casinos have full-size Baccarat tables, but these are not to be found among the other table games. In fact, they are intended predominantly for high rollers and for that reason, the Big Table Baccarat games are located in a secluded area off the main casino floor.

Each side of the table is managed by a dealer who is in charge of handling the game action. The dealer gives you chips when you join the table, trades chips for you, pays out your winning bets, and collects the 5% commission you owe at the end of each shoe.
The third dealer is also referred to as the caller. He/she stands opposite to the seated dealers in the middle of the table. The caller is in charge of urging players to place their wagers, calling for the cards for Player or Bank, and announcing the winning bets.
The three dealers usually take turns and rotate positions around the Baccarat table. The game action is also monitored by a Ladderman who solves all kinds of issues during the game. Needless to say, there would be cameras that record every action on the casino floor.
When you join a full-size Baccarat table, the dealer on your side will greet you and you will be given chips in exchange for your money. The gameplay is brought to a standstill for a while until your money is placed out in green rows. The dealer announces the total and places the chips in front of you. Then, the dealer will urge players to place their bets and after a few minutes, he will announce that bets are no longer accepted.
Mini Baccarat Table Layout
Mini Baccarat games have gained considerable popularity because of the simplified rules and the reasonable table limits that make them suitable not only for high rollers but also for mass players.
The Mini Baccarat games do not pose such a huge risk to one's bankroll and the table limits usually vary between $5 and $25. The numbers are 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6. The number 4 is omitted as it's considered unlucky.
Mini Baccarat tables look like a half of a full-size table. While the full-size table can accommodate up to 14 players at a time, the Mini Baccarat table can host no more than 7 players. The caller is positioned in the middle of the table. The chip rack is located near the caller. There are also seven boxes for the commission that has to be collected from each of the participants.

…but the stakes are what sets these two apart.
The Mini Baccarat table is shaped like a semi-circle. Players are seated on one side and the dealer is seated across them. The croupier is positioned in the center because in Mini Baccarat, the dealer does not rotate from one player to another. The shoe is at the side of the croupier. The same applies to the stacks of chips given out to players in exchange for their money.
From the players' side, you will find two words, “player” and “banker”, and these will be printed in different colors, that are intended to designate which is the banker and which is the player bet.
In Mini Baccarat, you will find three betting areas that correspond to the three bets you can make. The tie betting area is near the croupier and it covers the numbers from 1 to 7. The banker bet area goes after the tie betting zone. You will see numbered circles and the word “bank” printed inside them.
The player bet area will have a different color from the banker's and you will see the word “player” printed inside the circles.
The full-size Baccarat and the Mini Baccarat are the most widespread layouts, but you can also come across Midi-Baccarat where as many as nine players can take part in the game at once. The French variation, known as Chemin de Fer, and Punto Banco, host between six and nine players at a time. As for the Deux Tableau variation, it is played mainly in Monte Carlo casinos and allows as many as 16 players to be seated.
