About Tome of Madness

Delving into the mystic arts and summoning demons and horrors never seemingly had any bad results in the past, so Play'n Go developed their Cthulhu Mythos inspired Tome of Madness slot along those lines. The game finds intrepid adventurer Rich Wilde in a busted down church trying to combine gems and pagan symbols for a chance to score some credits from the netherworld. It's the type of casino game your overly-religious relatives would hate!

The game opens with a famous quote from the fictitious book The Necronomicon, as penned by H.P. Lovecraft, "that is not dead which can eternal lie, and with strange aeons even death may die". You are then dropped into a 5 reel, 5 row reactor style game that's set in that really creepy church. The game sees a set of symbols fall into the reels, and you're trying to get at least four identical icons to touch in a cluster in order to generate wins. Icons in the game include gems (blue, red, purple, green) that have an inscription on them, as well as rings, skulls, spell books, and daggers that even OJ Simpson would be jealous of.

The game features cascading reels, which see winning symbols removed with symbols from above falling down to let you potentially daisy chain wins. After each cascade the game adds the number of winning symbols to a portal meter, and a certain points around that meter the game will change a couple of random symbols into special wilds which can assist in keeping the cascade going. Should you chain together 42 or more winning symbols in a cascade you'll gain access to a free spins round. And if you are fortunate enough to chain together enough wins in the free spins round, you may confront Cyäegha, a massive ugly tentacled eye monster wild symbol that moves down the board matching with anything and everything it touches which can lead to some epic wins.

Tome of Madness is playable on desktop and mobile platforms, so you can try this on your smartphone or tablet if you wish. It does look sharp no matter where you decide to play, but I really enjoyed playing this on my desktop. This game is a decent reactor style game, and it's certainly darker than a lot of the other versions we've seen before.

I had 400x bet win one time, and then, never got any nice win.
This game is made from Candy Crush in a similar game way.

Not a bad game, but I don't really like it either.

Nice sounds in the game, like that voice in the background but thats it. I am not a fan of that kind of games and cant understand the people why they are. Didnt win in this game as well. And probably it gonna stay as slot non grata on my slots list 🙂

At first I wasn't really a fan of this game, but having played it more I do enjoy it. I like the concept that there's different features you can trigger, also the graphics are great. However, even if you trigger the mega feature, the payouts are quite low. From the "Gargantoonz" feature (as it reminds me a lot of Reactoonz) I've had at best 200x bet wins. It's a decent game for low-rolling but nothing too impressive.
