Review of Bodog Casino

Originally established by enigmatic and flamboyant entrepreneur Calvin Ayre in 1994, Bodog has grown from humble beginnings as a software company into an online gambling and lifestyle brand. The Bodog Casino is one arm of a full gambling service that also encompasses poker, sportsbetting, and horse racing.

A recent history of Bodog

The recent history of Bodog is a colourful tale, replete with battles with "patent trolls" and the US government. Calvin Ayre sold the Bodog business to the Morris Mohawk Gaming Group shortly after the UIGEA law was passed in 2006. Ayre established a side business, Bodog Brand, which offers marketing and brand licensing services and he claims to no longer have any interest in the Bodog gaming business.

In 2006 Bodog had its domain name seized and a default judgement awarded against it of $46 million in a dispute with 1st Technology LCC - a case that was later settled out of court. The US government seized $24m in funds from Bodog payment processors in 2008. In February 2012 Bodog's founder was indicted by U.S. authorities and the original Bodog domain was again seized by said authorities. None of these misfortunes seems to have majorly dented the success of the popular brand however.

The sale and subsequent licensing of the Bodog brand means that you play at different sites depending on your country of residence. Americans play at a Kahnawake licensed site named Bovada, while Canadians can play at the Antigua regulated site reviewed here, while others can play at Bodog Asia. While the sites are different, the games, bonuses, and software are essentially the same.

A RTG offshoot

Unlike the majority of Realtime Gaming casinos, Bodog does not license the software and games. In fact they bought the source code to the RTG platform and established their own proprietary software based on that. As a result Bodog has most of the older RTG games plus a bunch of its own creation, but it does not release the newest RTG games as they become available. The casino is available in standard download, mobile, and instant play form - and you can try most of the games freely on the website.

As it runs separately to the main RTG network, the progressive jackpots are completely unique to Bodog casino. It is definitely worth your while to check if your favourite RTG jackpot has a higher or lower value at Bodog than your regular casino. The progressive jackpots include well known RTG slots such as Shopping Spree, IRIS 3000, The Shark, and Crazy Dragon.

In addition Bodog offers slots from Rival Gaming, along with a large variety of traditional table and casino games such as Blackjack, Roulette, Caribbean Stud, 3 Card Poker, Baccarat, Craps, Keno, and many more. The live dealer department is particularly well stocked, with studio dealers running Blackjack, Baccarat, Roulette, and Super 6. There are also several variants of video poker available.

Customer Service and Banking options

The banking options at Bodog are rather restricted. You may deposit via methods such as credit and debit cards, bank transfers, as well as Bitcoin which the casino has been heavily pushing in recent times due to its unblockable nature. When it comes time to withdraw, your only options are Bitcoin and a courier check. Note that if you deposit and withdraw using Bitcoin, your funds are converted into dollars while playing at the casino. Most importantly payments are quick and hassle free, and I have regularly received withdrawals from Bodog in less than a day. In particular there are few better options for Canadian players at the moment when it comes to fast and friendly transaction processing.

Customer support may be emailed or phoned 24/7, or contacted via live chat. In my experience the reps at Bodog are polite and helpful. Let me say straight up that this is not a bonus hunter's delight though. However play at the casino for a while and you will find better offers do come your way. Bodog definitely aims to please its players through quality of service rather than giving away giant bonuses like candy.

Conclusion

Overall Bodog is one of the better options available for Canadian players at the moment. The payment processing is quick and reliable, the service is good, and the site is designed and run with Canadians in mind.

Bodog casino it is another real time gaming casino at which i am played in my life. Unfortunately i did not played in this casino many times, so my experience about this place is of course probably not fullfilled with some exact details, or something like this, but at least i made couple of deposits, so i have something to say. First of all customer support was offline when i tried to reach live chat once, of course this is not indicate that it is bad, and i am did not want to say anything bad about it, but the fact that support is not 24/7 is clear here. Or probably there was some technical issues or somethng, you never know actually. Bonuses are a bit tight and not big, i never get offer with bonus code higher than 100%, and even those 100% bonus offers come to my account not very often, about once or twice during a month. Also amount of freespins or f reechips is not big, even less than at other real time gaming casinos. In all other ocassions this is looks like good casino, but unfortunately i am also did not have any withdrawals from this place, so i did not know anything about it.

PeDrone’s Bodog Casino Review
Casino Software
This online casino using games created by Realtime Gaming, its own proprietary own software and Betsoft. It is operated by Bodog Europe / Bodog Gaming. Personally, the games variety is not interesting enough for me, as well as the bonuses are limited to poor fews, so I consider it quite bad.

Welcome bonus
This is another casino that offers , for me absolutely not understoodable, 3 kinds of 100% match bonuses (maybe the “up to” varies but it’s the least important part). The bonus is average though.

Deposits and withdrawals
There are quite a little amount of payment options available – basic e-wallets, credit cards and a few other chosen services. I Used Skrill 25$ turned into 50$ and began to play.
Yes you guess correctly – no withdrawal at this casino 🙂.

Customer support
Live chat support service is AVAILABLE and you are allowed to communicate also by email or phone – both are disappointing me and I rate this very negative! I pick Live chat everytime it is possible.

Gameplay
Slots angels and Aztec treasures were my 2 chosen games this time, and meanwhile they were not that much of “chosen” – they did not pay much, only Aztecs have had a hopeful moment, but it disappeared quickly.

Summary
I recommend the casino as the game variety is unusual and overall the casino is giving another experience and feeling like others, so it is worth trying 🙂.

Bodog casino it is well know casino, that have good reputation, and also i think it is popular brand, because it have not only casino, but also poker and sportsbook. I tried this casino couple of times, and also few of my mates tried this casino, so i had some experience with this online casino. But like usually i will start from pluses for this online casino.
+ Software/games selection. There is presented games from RTG and betsoft. Betsoft games is 3D, and i have suggestion that if you computer not enough strong, you better not try this games, because it can be really laggy. My gameplay was good, so i can say that with software i have good experience.
+ Customer support. I did not tried email support or phone support, but live chat that what i tried, and my experience with it is good, i am happy with their service that was provided to me.
+ Bonuses. In case of casino bonuses, casino is good. It is usually offer nice bonuses. Regarding poker and sportsbook bonuses i did not have any information or experience unfortunately.
And one minus.
- Withdrawals. I had two payouts from this casino, first took 4 days, second took 3 days. I would like to get paid faster.
Final mark.
It is good place, and withdrawals actually not so slow.

Bodoq casino it is very old and decent and also very reputable casino that have real time gaming software and also have games from betsoft. Games from real time gaming software can be downloaded and installed on personal computer or notebook and you will be able to enjoy games from real time gaming without visiting website. Betsoft games in my experience works good but i did not like their games because most of this games is very cold and this games just take my money giving only something like half of which i spent back.Bonuses at bodoq casino very good and i get bonuses here quite often and also i would like to say good words about their customer support because it looks like this guys works all the time and also every time i speak with them they was really great and professional i really enjoy casinos with such great live support when you can be sure if oyu did not understand something there is always some people who are ready to help you. Sadly i never win in this casino but i am played not so many times to be sad but i am sure this is safe and good casino brand.

Wow, those are some very high play throughs on their bonuses. I just noticed that.

I find most Sports Book places don't have the best slots. I was just exploring justbet.cx, and their slots are pretty lame, too.

I wish Live Dealer Blackjack would reduce the minimum bets to at least five dollars, like the land casinos, or possibly even lower.

I do like that I can play either slots or my penny Texas Hold'em when I do deposit there, and depending upon what I am in the mood for. They haven't sent me my little 10 dollars through email in a very long time, either. lol

For Americans, Bodog switched to Bovada.lv

They have good poker software, a great sportsbook, and the casino is getting better with the 3D games, although the majority of the games still suck.

Deposits for Bovada are limited right now to Visa, wire transfer, and one more form that I cannot think of. Withdrawals are also limited to a paper check or wire transfer, although I have heard their checks have been going out slllllllowww recently.

Give it a look, but be prepared to wait for payment if you win.

You should really only give Bodog now called Bovado 2 stars at best. Since the switch it takes 60 days for a payout. I requested a 316.00 payout and they kept changing their site everytime i sent them an email first 21 days then 25 then 30. Every email to them said thats average and we already issued the check just waiting on the tracking number from fedex. When i got the check, i looked at the date on it, it had been cut two days before. So on top of very slow payouts, lying to customer and the most recent, changing their slots to lower payouts, they need to re re-evaluated upon their slot stars.

Wow. That is interesting, CL-Ed. I thought is was just an update for....whatever. I had no idea the name change is only for U.S. players. I haven't played there very much, maybe once or twice with fun money just to check it out, and I wondered why they were doing this, and now I know. Thanks, again!

CL-Ed and Members,

Did you all receive an email that BoDog is changing their name? Here is a copy of the email I received on December 14, 2011:

"Since the announcement last summer that the Morris Mohawk Gaming Group's (“MMGG”) brand licensing agreement with the Bodog Brand would expire at the end of the year, we have been working hard to build you a new site that offers you everything you had before – plus more!

Here's what hasn't changed :

The business is still owned and operated by the Morris Mohawk Gaming Group, as it has been for over 4 years

The same great products and games – You will find all the same sports and horse racing markets, and the same list of award winning casino games as before.

The Bovada poker room remains on the same network

Your account remains entirely the same. Simply log in at www.bovada.lv and your information, will be there

Here's what's new:

The name! Bovada and its updated look and feel

Our instant play casino lobby lets you navigate back to the sportsbook or your account pages without having to end your game

These are just some of the highlights, but we encourage you to sign in and explore the new site for your self or visit our landing page to learn more."

I haven't check it out yet, but I might do so in the future.

Oh, and here is the link:

From today, December 14th, MMGG will continue to operate as it has for over 4 years, just under its new name, BOVADA, at www.bovada.lv.

Maybe this has been announced elsewhere, but I did not see it. 🙂
