Sweden Bans Four Operators

Sweden's gaming regulator Spelinspektionen has announced that it has banned operators Itsfail Ltd, Teamfail Limited, NewEra BV, and Jer-Team NV for offering services in the country without the proper licencing.

The regulator said that two of the groups, Teamfail and Itsfail, were offering games with skins for computer games that can then be sold for money. Skin gambling is a major no-no in Sweden, as those sites often target underage gamblers and don't have any verification processes for age of users. As such, skin betting sites aren't eligible for Swedish gaming licences.

The offences of the other two operators weren't announced by the regulator.

Spelinspektionen is regularly one of the most active gaming regulators when it comes to online and land-based activity. Earlier in the week it fined lottery group Folkspel for allowing an underage gambler to call into a show and gamble. It also recently fined Kanon Gaming SEK 7 million for violating gaming rules.

The group has also been cracking down on standard casinos operating in the country without a licence, as offshore betting remains a big area of concern for licenced groups that lose revenue to the illegal sites.
