Abstract
액정 셀, 액정 셀의 한쪽의 면에 맞붙여진 편광판 A, 액정 셀의 다른 한쪽의 면에 맞붙여진 편광판 B를 갖는 액정 표시 장치로, 상기 편광판 A는, 편광자의 투과축 방향이 액정 표시 장치의 장변 방향과 평행이고, 편광자의 적어도 편면에 폴리에스테르 필름이 적층된 구조이며, 상기 편광판 B는, 편광자의 흡수축 방향이 액정 표시 장치의 장변 방향과 평행이고, 편광자의 적어도 편면에 보호 필름이 적층된 구조이며, 상기 폴리에스테르 필름의 액정 표시 장치의 장변 방향의 수축력 Ff와, 편광판 B가 갖는 편광자의 액정 표시 장치의 장변 방향의 수축력 Fp가 0.1≤ Ff/Fp≤2의 식을 만족하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치이다.

Claims (9)
- 폴리에스테르 필름의 MD 방향 또는 TD 방향의 수축력 Ff가 1100N/m 이상 10000N/m 이하인 편광자 보호 필름:
(단, 수축력 Ff(N/m)는, 폴리에스테르 필름의 두께(㎜)×탄성률(N/㎟)×열수축률(%)÷100×1000이고, 열수축률은 100℃ 30분간의 열처리를 행함으로써 측정되는 것이다.). - 제 1 항에 있어서,
상기 수축력 Ff가 1280N/m 이상인 편광자 보호 필름. - 제 1 항에 있어서,
상기 수축력 Ff가 1500N/m 이상 7200N/m 이하인 편광자 보호 필름. - 제 1 항 내지 제 3 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,
상기 탄성률이 1000∼9000N/㎟인 편광자 보호 필름. - 제 1 항 내지 제 3 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,
상기 열수축률이 0.1∼5%이고, 열고정 후의 냉각 과정에 있어서 재차 연신되어 있는 편광자 보호 필름. - 제 1 항 내지 제 3 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,
상기 폴리에스테르 필름의 MD 방향 또는 TD 방향에 대한 배향 주축의 기울기가 15도 이하인 편광자 보호 필름. - 제 1 항 내지 제 3 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,
상기 폴리에스테르 필름의 MD 방향 또는 TD 방향에 대한 수축 주축의 기울기가 15도 이하인 편광자 보호 필름. - PVA와 요오드와 붕산으로 이루어지는 편광자의 한쪽의 면에, 제 1 항 내지 제 3 항 중 어느 한 항에 기재한 편광자 보호 필름이 부착(貼合)된 편광판이며, 상기 편광자 보호 필름의 MD 방향 또는 TD 방향 중, 수축력 Ff가 1100N/m 이상 10000N/m 이하가 되는 방향과 상기 편광자의 투과축 방향이 평행인 편광판.
- 시인측(視認側) 및 광원측에 제 8 항에 기재한 편광판이 부착된 액정 패널을 갖는 액정 표시 장치로서, 상기 시인측의 편광판은, 그 편광자의 흡수축 방향이 액정 표시 장치의 장변 방향과 평행이고, 상기 광원측의 편광판은 그 편광자의 투과축 방향이 액정 표시 장치의 장변 방향과 평행인 액정 표시 장치.
