Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable composite build up welding in which ununiform structure is not generated, by specifying a molten metal rate through continuously adding molten metal into a slag pool.
CONSTITUTION: On a surface 2 of slag bath in the gap between base material 1 and a mold, electrodes 4, 5 and 6 are arranged as shown in the figure, molten metal is added at the position 3 indicated by mark "x", and while columnar base material 1 is turned, build up welding is carried out. The amount of the molten metal to be added is given by η≥98-4.3ρ, where in η(%) is the rate of the same and the total filler metal, ρ is current density of slag bath A/cm2 of slag bath. Since the electrodes are not arranged uniformly at the circumference and the molten metal can not be supplied to the entire circumference uniformly, welding heat sources are unevenly distributed at the circumference, so base material 1 is tunred to supply the molten metal to the entire circumference. For this purpose, the metal pool ratio is made equal at any circumference and the ratio of fusion as well, so that those values can be controlled to target value over the entire circumference.
