Claims (6)
- 前後方向に配列された複数気筒を有するエンジン本体から排出された排気の一部をエンジン本体の吸気系に還流させるエンジンの排気還流装置であって、
上記シリンダヘッド内に形成された排気通路と、
上記シリンダヘッド内に形成されて、上記排気通路からシリンダヘッドの後方に延びるとともに、当該排気通路と連通する連通路と、
上記排気通路から上記吸気系に還流する排気の少なくとも一部を冷却可能なEGRクーラと、
上記EGRクーラをバイパスさせて上記排気通路から吸気系に排気を還流させるバイパス通路とを備え、
上記連通路は、シリンダヘッドの内部で2つの分岐路に分岐しており、
当該2つの分岐路は、それぞれシリンダヘッドの後端面に開口しており、
これら分岐路の開口部の一方は上記EGRクーラに連結され、他方は上記バイパス管路に連結されていることを特徴とするエンジンの排気還流装置。 - 請求項1に記載のエンジンの排気還流装置において、
上記EGRクーラに連結される上記分岐路の開口部は、上記バイパス管路に連結される上記分岐路の開口部に比べてエンジン本体の吸気系からより離間した位置に形成されていることを特徴とするエンジンの排気還流装置。 - 請求項1または2に記載のエンジンの排気還流装置において、
上記EGRクーラは、エンジン本体の幅方向に沿って、当該EGRクーラに連結される上記分岐路の開口部近傍からエンジン本体の幅方向一方側に配置された上記吸気系に向かって延びていることを特徴とするエンジンの排気還流装置。 - 請求項3に記載のエンジンの排気還流装置において、
上記2つの分岐路の開口部は、互いにその上下位置が異なっており、
上記EGRクーラおよび上記バイパス管路は、上記各開口部から、互いに上下方向に離間した位置で平行に延びていることを特徴とするエンジンの排気還流装置。 - 請求項3または4に記載のエンジンの排気還流装置において、
上記EGRクーラは、上記エンジン本体の幅方向に延びるEGRクーラ本体と、当該EGRクーラ本体の長手方向一端に設けられてこのEGRクーラ本体の内側に排気を導入する排気導入部と、当該EGRクーラ本体の長手方向他端に設けられてこのEGRクーラ本体内の排気を上記吸気系に導出する排気導出部とを有し、上記排気導入部が上記開口部に連結されていることを特徴とするエンジンの排気還流装置。 - 請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載のエンジンの排気還流装置において、
上記エンジン本体に連結された吸気マニホルドに形成されたEGRガス通路構造部を備え、
上記EGRクーラおよびバイパス管路は、上記EGRガス通路構造部に支持されていることを特徴とするエンジンの排気還流装置。
