- Much of the scrap metal recycling is done using electric ovens such as arc furnaces. These ovens make it possible to melt and reuse the scrap thus treated to make new steel products such as beams, etc.

- the purpose of the present invention is to provide a device for introducing liquid iron into an electric oven in full operation. - the service life of the oven tank cooling panels is increased because the cast iron is no longer projected against these panels during charging. We therefore limit dust emissions to the atmosphere because liquid iron comes into contact with the scrap metal below the cover of the electric oven. Consequently, the dust generated is sucked up and treated by the furnace filtration system.

- the feeding balcony may have a cover provided with a coating of refractory material which minimizes the heat losses and which forms a protective shield for a part of the oven adjacent to said device when it is open. In this way, the oven is protected against splashes of liquid cast iron during charging.
- the lateral supply balcony will be arranged near the tap hole. This arrangement has the advantage that the oven door can remain closed during the addition of liquid iron. Classic door operations are not hampered.
- a flow channel can be arranged in the refractory from the bottom of the side balcony to the center from the oven.
- an elevation or a dam can be arranged between the flow channel and the tap hole so as to deflect the cast iron from the tap hole.
- the arrangement of the balcony for placing the cast iron near the taphole and the possibility of pouring a precise quantity of cast iron also making it possible to pour part of the liquid metal contained in the ladle directly into the steel ladle intended to receive the molten steel coming from the furnace, this in order to nuance this steel intended to receive the molten steel coming from the furnace. In this way, energy is saved and elements of alloy (C, Mo, Si) are recovered.
- a dam is located between the balcony and the tank of the electric oven which has the effect of creating, in the lower part of the balcony, a bottom of molten metal during all the dumping of the cast iron in the balcony lateral. In this way, the projections of liquid cast iron during the spill are limited.
