FLOT2
Flotilin-2 je protein koji je kod ljudi kodiran genom FLOT2.[5][6]
Flotilin 2 (flot-2) je visoko konzervirani protein izoliran iz domena kaveol/ lipidnog splava koji vežu receptore faktora rasta na puteve signalne transdukcije. Flot-2 se veže za PAR-1, poznati uzvodni posrednik glavnih puteva transdukcije signala uključenih u rast ćelija i metastaze, a može uticati na progresiju tumora.[7]
Kaveole su mali domeni na unutrašnjosti ćelijske membrane, uključene u promet vezikula i transdukciju signala. Ovaj gen kodira integrirani membranski protein povezan s kaveolama, za koji se smatra da djeluje u neuronskoj signalizaciji.[6]
Dužina polipeptidnog lanca je 428 aminokiselina, a molekulska težina 47.064 Da.[8].
